Super hip, fantastically designed hotel. As soon as you walk in you can tell what kind of place you are in. Despite being super cool with staff of beautiful people everything felt very welcoming. My wife and I enjoyed the free wine in the lobby. The coffee on the ground floor is delicious. We didn't visit the rooftop bar. The room itself was small but sufficient with a large shower and comfortable bed. My only complaint would be a lack of space to sit things on. Would probably be perfectly suited for a single traveler. With a partner the space can fill up quick.

Lovely bar and impeccable hospitality! The view from the top is amazing and I’m told it’s infinitely nicer in the summer. The woman at reception downstairs was lovely and helpful and everyone up at the bar was equally warm and accommodating. It feels like the kind of place that might be cold and too cool for its own good but it wasn’t at all. Excellent cocktails, can’t wait to go back!

When you enter PUBLIC it can be a little confusing just head up the escalators and a friendly soul will be happy to assist you. As you look song you'll notice a mix of modern and rustic decor that is very praying without being too distracting. The rooms are reasonable in size and very comfortable with very nice amenities. The bar in the lobby seems to be a hot spot at night with a variety of interesting folk while the rooftop bar was extremely off putting with an I'm better than you attitude everywhere you turn (staff and patrons) without even being as high end as you might find at the ME in London... definitely will avoid the rooftop bar next time. Otherwise with Friday staff overall and nice rooms in an amazing location to get everywhere you can't go wrong staying at PUBLIC, I know I will for my next visit to NYC.

Such a brilliantly designed space. I don't even want to call it a hotel. It's like a cool lounge, with fantastic mood and lights and everything. That you happen to be able to sleep at if you want. One of the best rooftop views on the lower east side.. Great place for a date or a drink or a dinner or to bring any cool guests visiting NY.

Been here several times. Checked out the roof, the basement for a comedy show, the upper lounge area, the study/library area and the second floor. The place is immaculate from top to bottom. Stunning decor and design elements everywhere. It is the most modern, stunning, stylish and sophisticated hotel design I've seen in New York City. Needless to say this is a great date spot. They say the food here is delicious, and the drinks I've had have been stellar. The gift shop is pretty pricey... And I bet the rooms are expensive but from what I've seen, it is probably a worthwhile and unforgettable experience. 5 stars for sure. I hope this hotel does well!
