I have been a client at Pilates Barre for over a decade and it is hands down my favorite workout studio. I can’t say enough about the quality of instruction, the diversity of workouts and the warm, fun and welcoming environment for people of all fitness levels. I lived in Manhattan prior to moving to this area and took barre and Pilates classes at studios in the city for many years. Nothing compares to the technical expertise and careful guidance I receive at Pilates Barre. I have found ALL the instructors to be excellent over the years and encourage trying all the classes. Sharon has really created a wonderful place to get and stay strong.
The Pilates Barre is a big part of my life I tell Sharon when I go to class twice a week regularly. I look forward to my Healthy Back Reformer class and my Healthy back mat class that I feel were specially created for my personal needs! Sharon is a Superwoman! She never stops and can teach several classes in a row if needed full tilt and all of the same high quality! The thing that amazes me the most is that Sharon knows each client by name and their needs and restrictions and points out where they can modify during the classes. She also reminds clients during the class to adjust as needed to stay safe and in proper position. You can tell that Sharon chooses very carefully who teaches and works with her at the studio. Rebecca for example is a wonderful and experienced part of the team for reformer classes that I have taken as well. She has a different style that complements Sharon's classes beautifully. Kristin and Laura are amazing, kind and always have a smile on their face as they greet you at the front desk and take care of all your administrative needs. The Pilates Barre is the most complete, welcoming, up to date on equipment and always of the highest standard!
Sharon and all the instructors at the studio are amazing. I always leave class feeling so much better than when I walked in. I wish my schedule would allow me to start each morning with one of their classes. It’s a complete body and mind workout. Because of Sharon’s knowledge and experience she can make modifications to any exercise to accommodate anyone’s physical limitations. You feel like your getting a private lesson even when in a group setting!
I recently started classes at The Pilates Barre in Ridgefield, and it has been an absolute game-changer for me. As someone who was new to Pilates & Barre, I was initially intimidated, but the welcoming and supportive environment at this studio quickly put me at ease. The instructors here are phenomenal. They are not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled but also very attentive to each individual's needs. They ensure that every movement and posture is performed correctly, maximizing the benefits while minimizing the risk of injury. Their guidance has helped me improve my strength, flexibility, and overall fitness in a way I never thought possible. The classes are diverse, catering to all levels, from beginners to advanced, and the studio is always immaculately clean and well-maintained. The equipment is top-notch, and the studio space is both calming and inspiring. For anyone considering Pilates in the area, I cannot recommend The Pilates Barre highly enough. It's more than just a workout; it's a holistic experience that nurtures both the body and mind.
I've taken barre and Pilates classes across the country during all my travels and I've yet to find a studio that is superior to Pilates Barre in Ridgefield. The owner's passion for her practice is reflected in how she trains her instuctors and in how she personalizes her classes for the needs of her clients. From head to toe, you'll feel the impact of Pilates Barre's unique approach to fusion classes and traditional Barre and Pilates. The entire instructor team at Pilates Barre is incredible. Highly recommend for novice practitioners to the most expert who are dedicated to Barre and Pilates routines.
After years of my sisters pushing me to try pilates I finally did. I have been running outdoors for decades and I cannot do squats or lunges and I sometimes collapse on my left knee if I do try that. I decided to take some one on one lessons with Sharon to learn about Pilates; how to keep the back flat, how to breathe, etc. so that I could see if I could benefit. I tried the Jump class on the reformers and I tried the TRX Bodhi class on the tower. At first I could not do some of the movements because of my runner's knee. I did not want to continue but I did for one reason. I found that the class was hitting every muscle in my body, not just one isolated area like when I have been trained at the gym. Over time I did everything and now I realize that I have built up the muscles around my knee and I have no issues at all going into a deep squat or back lunge. I am being supported by the correct form and by my own body and I feel incredibly strong! I am one of the older women in the classes but I feel amazing! A one hour class is worth a week of workouts at the gym. We work very hard and we sweat! What you put into it is what you get out of it. Sharon makes sure to correct me on the tiniest thing that truly makes a difference in the overall workout. I cannot imagine a week now without my tower class. My muscles feel hard and strong and I can do the parts I struggled with easily now! I dreaded the plank series and now I look forward to that part!! I cannot say enough about Sharon and her enthusiasm and care for all of us to really benefit from the workouts.
The Pilates Barre in Ridgefield, CT is a fantastic studio. I highly recommend joining their practice and taking part in the wonderful classes they have to offer. Rebecca is a fabulous instructor. As a beginner, she was patient, thorough, and positive throughout each private and group class. I left each session full of energy knowing I got a good workout in. Don't hesitate to be a part of their community, it's the best decision you'll make!
Im a 56 year old man with herniated discs in my neck and lower back, along with and a left hip replacement. Before I started working with Sharon I struggled with pain and flexibility issues that were preventing me from being as active as I would like. Fast forward, I have not felt this good in 20+ years. I have more flexibility than I did when I was in my 30's, and through extensive core training, I play golf as much as 3-4 times/wk with no pain or discomfort. More importantly, I am no longer limited by my past physical challenges. Sharon is amazing. Her commitment to her craft, depth of knowledge, and no-nonsense approach, has had an immense impact on my physical...and mental...health.
Awesome classes, instructors and staff. I can not say enough great things about this place. Sharon and her staff are not only professional, and kind, but they are so highly skilled. Each class is as if you are in a private training session. I’ve never worked out so hard and had fun too! The Pilates Barre in Ridgefield, CT is top notch. The instructors are terrific, the atmosphere is welcoming and the workouts are hard/rewarding.
