On January 2, 2018 I was in the Scottsdale North location and went to a cash register where a tall man with glasses named “Kris” was working the register. He took it upon himself to ask me if I qualified for the senior discount. Now I couldn’t care less how old a store clerk thinks I am, so this is not about vanity. Its about rudeness and disrespect. It doesn’t matter if you are 25 or 95, if a clerk offers the senior discount YOU ARE BEING INSULTED. Goodwill only has to put a sign at each cash telling the customer to let them know if you qualify, and in fact, they had just announced on the store speaker to let the cashier know if you are entitled to a discount. Allowing employees to decide a customer’s age is extremely rude, and after this, you are always asked for a handout or donation. When I let “Kris” know I didn’t appreciate this, he actually started to argue with me, then threw my card back at me and flounced out the front door. I had asked him to get me the Manager, and to cash me out as I was buying my stuff either way, but he throws a tantrum and runs out of the store and starts using his cellphone!!! People who are constantly and aggressively begging handouts from the public should learn to respect the customers who pay their salary.

Prices are too high. Inventory is scant. Could be a good place to shop if staff acknowledged your existence. Not a favorite for me amongst Goodwill's.

The staff was removing the $1 sale tag items in order to "make room" on the racks. We asked about the policy of keeping the previous weeks tags on the rack since the registers know to price them at a dollar and the clerk said oh they always keep the previous weeks tags for a week, then remove them from the racks...well that's not what the staff we talked to on the floor who were told. They mentioned they were directed to remove all of the previous weeks tags since they were no longer on sale. When I corrected the point of them being on sale this week, they both said they were just following management direction. We are regular shoppers at all of the valley Goodwill's, and this practice is not common, but it is at a few stores only. It's sad to see store management not following corporate direction. I do not recommend shopping this specific store. There are plenty of of other Scottsdale and Mesa stores that do not follow this practice and you can get still find the previous weeks tags on sale for a dollar. I would strongly recommend shopping a different location!

My wife and I visit Goodwills every other on Sales Saturday. This week we were in Scottsdale, so we thought we would try this one. This location was the worst one that we have ever been to and we are used to the one in Central and North Phoenix. The clothes had buttons missing and we stained. The floor was a mess and the homeware and electronics shelves were bare. They only have one small rack for DVDs. The prices were horrible too. Even the person who checked us out said that the people pricing had no idea what they were doing. I think we will stay in Phoenix from now on.

Very nice and clean Goodwill compared to the ones I used to go to in Tempe but the items are marked a little a higher, I'm guessing it is because it is in Scottsdale but I don't think that justifies the mark-up.
