No military discount, but a Groupon was available. Cozy bar, friendly staff, interesting mounts on the wall. Cook has developed an awesome deep fried cuban, which may border on sacrilege to cuban connoisseurs, and it was awesome!

This has become our "go to" hang out for a beer and something not too healthy! The drafts are perfect and our favorite is the philly cheesesteak quesadillas! OH MAN, delish!  I stuck at darts, but always have a fun time. If you prefer, play a few rounds of pool.  They have live music and a neighborhood "CHEERS" vibe. Haven't had a bad night there... ever! Hats off to the staff.

A good place to disappear... warm yourself with familiar company and a stiff drink. The food is exactly what you'd expect for bar food, fairly priced and quick.

Great little local spot with fun friendly people. Very nice and clean. Great prices.  Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I took advantage of a Groupon for Tom's and we are particularly happy that we did.  A warm and friendly bar; an exceptional waitress; and superb burgers and cold beer, what more could you want? The only negative is that they were playing heavy metal music on the jukebox but it wasn't deafening.  All in all, we found a new regular place for a bite and a beer.

Great bartenders, good crowd. Decent prices and good food. This is my default bar.

I finally went in there and met the real tom it was so cool and he was so cool and awesome very cool anyways i am the pool champion and all should fear also had a cool time and theres burger

To be honest I was hesitant with the change that happened to my favorite neighborhood bar. After much debate I finally gave it a chance. I am incredibly glad I did. The new owner is great and truly cares about his establishment and employees from what I’ve seen. Speaking of the employees they are all incredible from the cooks to the bartenders. Every employee is personable and easy to talk to. The menu is actually quite pleasant as well with great burgers and not just serving “bar” food. I would recommend Tom’s Tavern to anyone who wants to get away from the drama that is local Tampa bars. Definitely give it a chance to relax, have a drink, and enjoy the great atmosphere.

Update 12/2021: Have been back a few times and it's been consistent. My experience is service is more consistent at the bar than at a table as there is no separate server. Food is very consistent. When I was last there I had 10 wings for $17 but they were HUGE. Not sure if they're like that every time but I was a happy camper! Wish I had taken a picture : Quiet but it was very early, so just the way I like it. Food was decent. Great service. Good drinks.

Welcome to Tom's, a classic neighborhood tavern. While most of the patrons are locals, where the awesome bartenders know you by name and preferred drink, everyone is welcome. Good food and drinks at reasonable prices, and conversation as you would have it. If a casual clean "dive bar" is your style, you won't go wrong at Tom's.
