The food at this airport is very tasty. While you are waiting for your flight, you are guaranteed to enjoy a meal if you chose. The price for the food is also very reasonable. The airport is very clean and the staff is very friendly. One downside is the overuse of technology, as some airlines offer checkin only using computers. As a result of such, the entire airport gets packed and it can get difficult to move. Over all, this airport is as good as an airport can be.

It was a disaster changing planes in Toronto on a flight from Miami, particularly at Customs.  All the Nexus passengers lined up dutifully for the 8 machines of which only 4 were working.  It would have been faster to not have Nexus.  Then, with conflicting directions and winding windowless hallways we emerged to have to clear security again.  We had already cleared security in Miami.  Using Nexus to avoid most of the line we merged back with it unsure if we had exhausted the privilege we had paid for.  Now all we had to do was walk a kilometer to our gate and grab some fast food for the flight.  it was a 2 hour layover but we boarded as soon as we got to the gate.

Having much improvements in recent years like  no need to pay to hire a trolley, height adjustment immigration machine without fill in any paper form, renovated duty free shops with some renowned brand at least to attract those passengers willing to spend & most amazing is all cyber cafe with individual iPad on bar table! Looking forward to having more improvements likes some large city airports such as New York, London...

Your experience of YYZ greatly depends on whether you land here or take off. For taking off, it's not bad. You have 2 nicely renovated terminals, good selection of restaurants and lounges, smiling staff. That's because you will pay for their business. If you land here, you'll be essentially greeted by a 3rd world sweatshop-like environment with endless corridors, dirty carpets, long waits to submit your customs declaration and extremely rude women shouting to you which way to proceed. If you happen to be a foreigner, you'll be humiliated into a cattle-going-to-a-butchery like slowly moving line which may take hours. Only English is spoken by the visibly minority staff and the border officers look scornfully on weary travellers. The sanitary is very questionable and the baggage collection is a total mess.

Polite professional staff. Quick and easy check in and security. Nice to be able to have a laugh with staff while waiting & discussing your holiday and what you enjoyed most. An airport I'd actually not have an issue going through again. Nice range of food outlets.
