Can't imagine going anywhere else in Lexington. Top notch care from beginning to end. Excellent Staff from reception to nurses and doctors. For that matter Lexington EMS was top notch as well. Hope I don't have to go back but if I do I''ll have absolute confidence in this ER.

Waited forever, stuck in cubicles when finally seen (how is this acceptable by the way?) I don't want to be surrounded by other people being seen while being seen myself. Arms were swollen, felt like passing out, couldn't feel them all that well and they recommended I take some benaydryl.. went to bed that night after hours of staying awake because I didn't think I was going to be okay. This place is a joke.

Spent 14 hours in excruciating pain for an MRI they said I needed. The pain was too severe to lay still for an hour and a half in the machine. Back to my room and waited 2 more hours for a doctor, (that changed AGAIN) more powerful drugs got the pain tolerable and semi under control and we all agreed that combination of medication was needed 20 minutes before the next mri attempt. 6 hours passed and the nurse came in with the meds stating I would go to the MRI within a half hour..... 3 hours later they came for me, the meds had worn off and the pain in my back again prevented me from getting into the machine. Back to my room (we are well over 24 hours now) This time they said I would need to be admitted to get the pain under control and do the MRI later. 3 hours later at 6 am myself and my wife were awoken and told I was being dismissed...? I asked about the MRI and was told neurology would call me and make an appointment. Sent me home (walking out with help amd No wheelchair) with over the counter pills for pain and a smile (10 days worth) I thought that's ok I'll try to deal best I can because I was going to see the neurologist and get the problem fixed. UK neurology called the next day (I was in so much pain I had my wife talk to them.) The first opening they had was a month and a half away....... So I called the ER to see what I could do about the pain and my work only to be told they don't give advice over the phone nore would they Paige my doctor (I had 4 different doctors and wouldn't know which teenage doctor to ask for anyways) I give the one star for the 4th nurse on the second night (they switch so often I can't remember their names) The rest of UK gets less than 0 I'll bet the farm the bill will be huge and include 2 MRI's.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SAD EXCUSE FOR A HOSPITAL!!! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THAT ENOUGH. The ladies at the front desk were beyond rude to me when I had to go there Saturday evening. As soon as I walked up one of the ladies looked me up and down and proceeded to tell me it'll be five minutes and continued carrying on a conversation about nothingness with the woman at the other desk. I couldn't believe the disregard they had for me! I was very ill and was about to pass out. I told her I thought I was going to faint then she pointed at my husband and told him to get me a wheelchair but I couldn't sit. I told her I cannot sit down and she smirked and in a rude tone "she says she can't sit down, why can't you sit?" I shot right back at her and told her I had a cyst the size of a golf ball on my tailbone that is painfully infected. That shut her up quickly and the lady at the next window, who was doing nothing the whole time, and could've helped me finally helped me. After about fifteen minutes of standing there they called me back and got my vitals then put me in a room. It took the nurse an hour and a half to come see me and didn't offer me anything to relieve my pain, which was excruciating by the way. After lying there in pain for five and a half hours (we got there at 4PM) They ended up having to Lance the cyst. Ive had this done before just never on my bum so I knew what I was about to endure. I told them to please put me out and there was no way I could handle them injecting it with the numbing medicine let alone even touch it. They refused and instead gave me a Norco. I bravely took on the procedure and it was the worst thing I've ever been through in my entire life. My pain tolerance has always been good but I was screaming bloody murder from the pain. I should have been knocked out for this, it was borderline torture. Not only from the multiple injections but they had to break up the pockets in there to make sure all the infection was out and I felt every single bit of it. The whole thing lasted about thirty minutes, which felt like ten years of torture. I wish they would have listened to me when I asked to be put under. A hospital is supposed to accommodate your pain to the best of their ability and UK failed me in that regard. The procedure ended at approximately 9:30pm and it took them until midnight to discharge me. Can you believe that?? We were there a total of eight hours, and seven and a half of those hours consisted of me waiting uncomfortably in a hospital bed. Also my nurse never checked on me during that waiting period. Shameful!! I will NEVER return to UK and I'll be sure to stop anyone I can from going there.
