Story

US Post Office-Great Neck is a historic post office building located at Great Neck Plaza in the town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1939-40 and designed by consulting architect William Dewey Foster (1890-1958) for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a one-story, pentagonal shaped skeletal frame building clad with plucked textured buff limestone in the Classical Revival style. It features a semicircular entrance portico supported by four square columns. Above the entrance is a relief sculpture of an eagle with 13 stars sculpted in 1940 by Gaetano Cecere.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It was designated as a local historical landmark on December 1, 2004.

All these negative reviews are from people who can't wait in line or be patient for any amount of service. The people here work hard to meet your needs at the USPS Great Neck Post Office. They are always busy and if your not there earlier enough, lines can be long and could take between 3-5 minutes depending on the person in-front of you. The employee's are very helpful and are quite nice to be honest. Just wait and be respectful an you will be treated the way you would like to. PS. If your just there to complain and be rude, they will ask you to move aside because there are other people waiting in line to be helped. Its common sense to help those who need help first. PS(S). Phone lines don't work well so the staff can't answer your calls all the time even if they are important. Just keep that in mind.

Beware! Always a disaster. Nothing ever seems to be simple at this place. Always an attitude from staff. They act as if they are performing brain surgery and customers are getting in the way. In sum: a tragedy!

I have lived on Webb Hill Road over 30 years. The lady mail carrier for our street was so nice. We missed her a lot. I believe her name is Irene, who lives on Wilwade Road. A new male mail carrier has replaced her. Since then, I found a lot of advertising garbage dumped in my mail box. I waited for him one day and nicely asked if he could at least tie them up. I do not have a lot of mails and I used to find perhaps one piece of mail among ten pieces of garbage. I gave him a benefit of doubt if he would listen. One month later, he continued to dump my mail box. This mail carrier told me his name is Mr. Wong. By posting this review, I do hope the Welwyn Post Office becomes aware of what can be done to improve the post office rating

THEY DON'T ANSWER PHONE CALLS! I just called them - 11 AM. About 4-5 times. I let the phone ring continuously until the tel co recorded voice came saying "the caller does not respond; call again later". I am trying to make an appointment for the passport services. That's why the Post Office must go out of business. They're wasting the taxpayers money. Let private business take over.
