Tried to rip me off by listing a envelope as a package. Plus they up charge you. Go to the real post office

I needed to drop off a couple of large packages with expensive items inside. First of all, apparently the system was down so the lady working the counter (who also was working the gas station - this USPS location is inside a gas station) was unable to help the couple of people in front of me - one person in line mentioned that the lady says the system is down every time she comes in. In my case, my packages were prepaid so the lady said I could still drop them off there, except she wanted me to leave them in FRONT of the counter where customers of the gas station would be passing by (also the mail wouldn't be picked up for a couple days). I asked her "couldn't it get stolen if I leave it here?" and she replied "I don't know." WHAT?!?! What kind of response is that and why would she think it's acceptable for me to leave them out there in the open? Unreal.
