I am beyond impressed with this place!!! We were sent here after the NCSU animal hospital couldn’t treat my dog because she was “too aggressive.” My dog hates the vet. Has had bad experiences at the vet. So when she’s in pain it’s natural that she’d freak out. The staff here was told before hand and we were greeted at the door with all the necessary stuff to help our dog before we brought her inside. Sara Leigh is amazing! There was an amazing tech who loved on our sweet girl despite her being a grumpy puppy. We were told up front about costs and procedures. We wish we would have just come here first. Even though it was Christmas Day and our doggo was hurt we were very impressed with this facility. Thank you so much! You guys are amazing.

This is a 24. Hour emergency facility. Excellent facilities. We took our small dog to them with congestive heart failure. They are developing a treatment plan for us. Get your regular vet to call them w a referral.

Very impressed. My dog needed emergency surgery, I live in Wilmington and wanted to get my baby to the best facility. I am so grateful I took him here. I believe it was a decision that saved his life. The staff was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. I was able to meet the surgeon and get updates 24/7. His post-op care was amazing with a state of the art ICU. It did cost me significantly more to come here but its worth it. When you are dealing with a loved one, good care outweighs cost. I can sleep at night knowing I did the best as a mom to get him to the best facility around. Worth the money and the drive.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. They don’t care about you or your pet, they only care about the money. I took my cat here to find out if she had cancer (in her mouth). They quoted me about 1500$, just for a biopsy (and a lot of extra unnecessary bloodwork, X-rays etc). They seem to use the fact that pet owners are desperate and do whatever they need to for the best interest of their pet. I told them from the beginning that I wouldn’t have my cat go through chemo, because the cancer in a cats mouth is very aggressive and can not be cured. I asked them if her mass could be something else than cancer (before the biopsy), because I wasn’t going to treat her anyway. I have the feeling that he already knew that it was cancer, but wouldn’t tell me, just so I would pay for the biopsy. I ended up paying 800$ for the biopsy, told them not to worry about all the other things. The day I was supposed to hear about the result, I didn’t hear anything. I decided to call myself and then I heard the heartbreaking news. She had cancer. I had a lot of questions about what now. The vet tech said: ‘well, the doctor has already discussed that with you, right?’ No. No doctor discussed anything with me. I had also asked the doctor questions about my cats diet for future references, in case it would be cancer. He would call me back about it, but ofcourse never did. I told the lady. She told me I could get an appointment for 300$ to discuss my questions about my cats diet. This was very very annoying, since I had told them a lot of times that I first wanted to find out if there were possibilities for my cat, since she is on a special diet and she originally isn’t allowed to eat anything else (I wanted to find out if we could change that). I was not going to pay that kind of money just to hear that she couldn’t do anything for her anyway. She understood. I would have to discuss it with the doctor. Doctor called later and told me very clear that there’s nothing they can do, because I don’t want to do chemo. Ok, clear. Got it. But she did dare to say that I should take her back in soon for a recheck. FOR WHAT? You told me very clear you can’t do anything for her. Indeed. Just to get my money. Those people are money hungry and don’t care about your pet.

You know I was so disturbed by the encounter I had with this practice I actually went to see what the standard of care and hipatic oath is for a DVM. Because there was absolutely no compassion about welfare of the animal I brought here, everything was about money! There wasn't an ounce of concern for his life or anything unless I would spent on 1000.00 on a procedure which they were not even 100% that was the issue. I was offered however "a humane euthanasia" all of this for a possible urethral blockage. There was no consideration for the animal itself. I was literally left in tears because of how inhumane the staff of this practice is unless your paying the extremely inflated prices here. I am currently in the process of researching how and if I can file a complaint with NC veterinary medical board to address the substandard care the animal I brought in received that night and failure to uphold any of the Veterinarians oath dictated by the avma.
