My family and I visit Seabrook Island every year. In searching for future rentals I will look for those NOT managed by Wyndham. I learned during our recent stay that maintenance does not make courtesy calls alerting guests that they will be entering your villa/house. We did not request maintenance so my teenage daughter's were pretty shaken up when a strange man entered our villa unexpectedly. In addition there is no safe to lock up valuables in case a Wyndham employee decides to enter with no warning. I called the maintenance manager, Mr. Griggs, who was unavailable, of course, telling him that his maintenance workers owe customers a courtesy call. I never heard back from him, of course. In the future I would rather use a management company that works with customers on a more personal level. I also want to feel safe and not worry about being barged in on when I am in the bathroom, shower, or sleeping.

We are currently staying on Seabrook Island for our week long Beach vacation. We had rented out the perfect unit for our family. Upon arrival we noticed that the pantry in the kitchen (which also had the washer/dryer) had mold all on the walls. I called and reported it to the office. They sent a maid out to clean it that afternoon. We have a 9 month old and a 4 year old that both started getting really bad allergies due to the mold in there so we kept an eye on it. The next day the mold was back so we called again. They said the same thing that they would send someone to clean it. (Which obviously isn't working). We were in Charleston that day and apparently they discovered a leak. We came back and there were workers all in our unit and we hadn't even been notified. I didn't feel safe knowing they had all these people come in with our stuff there while we were out. We ended up having to move to another place on the island for the remainder of our stay which was a HUGE hassle with little ones and all our stuff but they didn't seem to care or try to make up for all the trouble we went through. . . I won't be using Wyndham again when we visit.

We rented a place on Kiawah Island on VRBO for a wedding and it was managed by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. Hurricane Matthew hit and the island was evacuated before our rental started. At first they refused to refund the money but after the storm had a change of heart and gave a full refund. We never got to enjoy the rental but wanted to state that this was a stand-up move to recognize a flawed policy and reverse a decision.

I was at King street Gill on Kiawah Island the other day with my wife. We stopped to get out of the rain and man was it worth it. The serving staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to to get what we needed and the burgers were off the charts. Next time we come to Kiawah Island this will be one place we stop
