I visit Altex when I am in immediate need of an item. Prices at their locations used to be above retail in many cases, but recently have adjusted to a point where they are competitive with many other retailers. They do price match in most instances, but I have presented them with prices on some visits that they could not match.

Selection of electronic items and tools is good. Altex offers a cross over between a computer parts store, a networking supply warehouse, and an electronics supply store. For many lines of work Altex makes a good one source stop for supplies when needed on short notice.

Customer service at the locations is usually Average to Good. I have received Excellent service on a visit or two but the majority of visits are Average.

I would recommend Altex to individuals looking for hard to find parts, or not really knowing what they are looking for. The employees at Altex are usually able to assist people in finding what they need to accomplish whatever task is at hand..

Products carried at Altex however are of Better Quality than the brands carried at many of the other local small computer shops.

If the on-shelf pricing here was more competitive I would give 5 stars.

Techs at this location seem to have an issue with completing work orders in a timely fashion. Additionally, they don’t bother to extend the courtesy of calling and notifying their customers on the status of repairs, or state that they require more time to complete them.

Nearly two weeks later and still no word. Called them again to inquire about the status of my desktop; they claimed that they had completed the work order and couldn’t get in contact with me due to having the wrong number on file- bull****! I checked the paperwork they had provided me when this whole ordeal began- they had the correct number. When I went to pick up my computer they attempted to charge me $120+ for a job that should’ve taken maybe an hour tops (running diagnostics on a potentially defective GPU). After confronting them on this,they finally acquiesced and refunded a portion of my money (charged for an hour in stead of two). Absolutely pathetic.

Has lots of computer and entertainment gadgets and accessories. Waiting area for thise being dragged along and have to wait for that other person to come back to reality (yeah I used the area) not sure if the coffee is for everyone but I helped myself to a cup. Enjoy your time!

They sold me the wrong items, they didnt give me a chance to explain what kind of computer i had or what would work or not. He just rushed me though the sale and didnt care to help me at all. They have good stuff but the staff is garbage. Had to pay a restocking fee even when it was their fault they sold me the wrong part.

Andrew was extremely helpful.  Polite and knowlegeable.  Not one to mess with coaxial cable stuff he showed me what I needed, explained everything to me and got me out of there.
