We spent 14 days here so i am packed full of info.. This is desert so it is wide open. When we arrived we discovered the site we had booked was too small for our rig. Within minutes 2 hosts greeted us and i told them my problem. Within 20 minutes they had me in a great level pull through. Thanks guys. It has a nice lake with a nice boat ramp. Their are fish to catch and release but check with them first. We saw some birds and jack rabbits. The rabbits would pop out of their holes and run fast through the open desert. My dog wanted to chase them but he was leashed. They have some nice trails and i think one goes to the lake. The bathrooms were clean but with toilet paper all over the floor with other garbage. Good enough for a shower if you can get hot water? I did not look at the toilets so check other reviews for that. After research i found the hosts are not responsible for cleaning the bathrooms. It would seem that the people using it should look behind them and pick up their litter. One guy on a bike came wobbling by and shouted at my dog to shut up. I believe he was talking to my whole family. As he peddled by he looked back and fell. It was then i knew he was one of those batheoom culprits. He had a tissue stuck to his flip-flop. (Carma s#!ks)

Park was nice. Rangers and camp host where very pleasant. Gave them a four star because only one shower in women's bathroom worked out of three. That one didn't have very much pressure didn't even wash my hair because I didn't think I would get soap out. The bathrooms were clean and warm , the shower water was warm. My husband did inform one of the rangers and he stated he would look into it. I would definitely come back and give them another try.

Beautiful park to stay. We were slated to stay 4 nights but the day we were leaving was going to be 50mph winds so we stayed 2 more nights. Easy access to town and the caverns (about an hour drive). Ranger frequently drives by and everything was quiet. We have a covered patio and picnic bench which was nice. We were in site #22 on the reserved side and the view was great. Price was very reasonable. Site was pretty level and easy to get in and out. Would recommend and we would stay there again.

It's a New Mexico State Park. They seem to have no pride in working showers, let alone cleanliness. Not sure who's responsible, Rangers or camp hosts, but they are slacking! One out of three showers in men's room works. I'm not convinced bathrooms are even cleaned weekly, let alone daily. I regret not taking pics of bathroom. The park, in general, is not as bad as the bathrooms. It is much cleaner! Sites are absolutely acceptable. The grill for our site was in an interesting location. Away from camper and picnic table, but next to bushes. (???) The campground is on a hill, next to a lake. We found, as we were told ahead of time, that the wind blows here. Often! And Gusty! And the fish in the lake are reported to be contaminated with high levels of DDT. Catch and release only. Not suitable for consumption.

Love coming here as many times as I can. We get the handicap #29 space. The last two times the trash can was running over and the bathroom was filthy. I still encourage all to visit this park. This has only happened the last two times we have come here. Usually very clean and quiet.
