I’d like to start by saying the hospital is trying to improve, however they have a long way to go. I’ve been working with this hospital for many years for my son who has autism. One doctor was amazing and he left. One psychiatrist we worked with was helpful as well. Everyone else I have worked with has so much to learn. Their answers are always the same, “take him to the ER, or call 911”. He has autism people, there’s nothing the ER can do and calling 911 will not help either, I did try both. The inpatient autism ward does the same routine with all the kids and they broke my sons finger, slamming it in the door trying to force him in the “safe room”. In my experience they DO NOT understand autism, do not trust them with your child. Like I said they are trying to improve. Hope they figure it out.

Daughter was sent here for dental surgery. Everything went fine until we started receiving our bill. Long story short they only billed our medical insurance not dental. After Several phone calls (months apart and still receiving bills) I am told they will not bill my dental insurance because they don't see themselves as a dental office. I ask to get a statement of service so that I can submit it to our dental insurance myself. Months pass (never receiving the requested statement) and I receive another bill this time saying that I will be sent to collections on X date. When I call this time they say they will resend the statement but I will still be sent to collections unless I set up a payment plan. DO NOT GO HERE FOR DENTAL RELATED ISSUES!

My son had to be airlifted here from Sheridan, WY in (what we now know) to be adrenal crisis, caused by undiagnosed Addison’s Disease. Since the moment we arrived, I couldn’t imagine a better place given the situation. It was a very scary time, but all the staff was incredible. From the Dr.’s and nurses, to the cleaning & kitchen staff! Everything was as good as it could be. There is so much going on every day for the kids! My son did as much as his energy would allow. This place is magic in a sea of terrible circumstances. I can’t imagine anybody having a bad experience here; but I would imagine what they put out has a lot to do with it. We were so grateful to everybody. Even had a wonderful woman come educate us on how to give my son his emergency injections etc. I know we will unfortunately be back here due to complications with my sons evolving disease. But I’m happy to know he will be taken care of!! Just 10 out of 10!!! Side note; food here is unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Had to wait over two hours to be seen by a Dr. Incredible dirty in waiting area. Don't think anyone picks up at all this was between 830pm-12 am and it was dirty when we arrived. Yes we didn't leave till after midnight. Don't go here unless you want to wait and possible get sick from God knows what else because they can't pick up. No one came to inform us how long it would be. Worst experience ever.

So disappointing. I have always supported Children's Hospital. I donate every year and have never had a complaint, however yesterday was a nightmare. My daughter had surgery on the 24th of January at the South Campus in Highlands Ranch which went good. I had called the number on the paper sent home on Friday because I had a concern that my daughter had a bloody nose that lasted longer than normal and just wanted to confirm it was okay as of course no parent wants a complication after the surgery and the number states don't hesitate to call. Well the first problem was I called at 5am and was told that I would get a call back no later than an half hour past my call. Well at 9am I called again because I never received a call back. Long story short after going over all the information they had decided it would be better for my daughter to be checked which of course as a parent safe is better than sorry. They expressed that I must go right away and I must go to the Aurora Campus. I am assuming because they didn't have the correct staffing at the South Campus. Upon arriving the waiting room was filled with children with the flu. Thinking we would be checked right in because they assured on the phone everyone knew were were coming. WRONG they had us sit in the absolutely gross waiting room with all these sick children for an hour while my daughter had just had surgery on Wednesday. I was not thrilled not only did they make it urgent that I drive all the way to that campus but to then have us wait in that environment absolutely not okay. It gets better, once we got back to the room what a joke. The room was disgusting. Walls are tinted in black, counters had wrappers from medical equipment laying there, sheets where dirty on the bed, there was a bloody cotton ball under the bed. At this point I was fuming. The supposed specialist that came in basically admitted that she just had lasic surgery so couldn't see really well but after looking at my daughter she looked fine? How would you know you just said you couldn't see. We addressed this concern with the MD that saw my daughter first and her response, "I just work here". Really you as a doctor approve these conditions for being a children's hospital. She then advised us to call a patient advocate. I of course did this right away. All they do is take down your concern and that is as far as it goes is the computer system if they even save it. Don't waste your time on a robot response to this review saying how you value and are sorry. Guess what actually take action. Plenty of donations go to this hospital and you can't even get it clean? This hospital was not like this several years ago as I experienced a great hospital 8 years ago when I needed it for my son which made me believe in this hospital and was why we started donating several years ago. After this visit, however it is obvious that the priorities back then are not a priority now and is really sad that I will never go back to this campus and wonder if I will donate moving forward. I am still mad that my daughter was put in this situation.
