The rooms were clean and well sized. Quick check in - someone who was not officially working checked us in while the on-duty clerk helped the customer in front of us. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was okay but not great.

I've stayed in at least a dozen midrange hotels in and around Asheville over the past couple of years, and the Clarion is the cleanest, and most comfortable of all by far. The room was spotless and well appointed, the linens crisp and clean, and the staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. Don't be fooled by the two star rating because this place excels and  outshines every other equally so rated. Very impressed.

If you are on a budget, this is a great value for money location. You are five minutes away from the Biltmore by car yet getting into and off the property is tricky. You must be careful if you are leaving the parking lot and need to get across the road because making a left isn't easy. 
If you stay in the low 100-200 room numbers you will be closest to the very active road and will hear the traffic noise in your room.
The rooms are nicely but modestly equipped with everything you need. They provide breakfast as part of your cost, but we are vegan so we cannot speak to taste or quality.  
The location, amenitites and cleanliness are just fine. I would rate this hotel a solid 3.5 stars but a half isn't possible here. There are lots of places to eat very close by and fantastic options further away for vegans that are worth visiting.

Really nice rooms and staff in a great location for Biltmore and the village. Rooms are up to date, clean, and well appointed. Front desk staff is helpful with needs and request.

Room had a smell of cigarette smoke and heavy chemicals trying to mask the odor, this is what is giving my poor review.  Kudos to the housekeeping staff that noticed we had left a phone charger and had the front desk call us.  Not many would have taken this extra step.
