One of our families favorite places to go for the day. Old fashioned ice cream and candy shops. Candy is homemade. You can take a stagecoach ride and ride back in time. Great place to take your family for a outing or just stop for lunch. Lovely little town

Great place to visit! We spent the day here and just walked around and checked out every shop here! The people are so Great! Very friendly and welcoming. The only issue we did have was at the Jack Douglass Saloon. We walked in and waited inside for 10 or 15 minutes. The propriater, a young gal with colored hair, was out front talking to a gentleman, when we walked in. Well after waiting for so long with no help, we walked out. As we were walking out, that young lady quickly started walking to us and said Hi. That really irritated me. We waiting to be helped and we were ignored until she felt ready. Aside from that we really enjoyed our trip and the rest of the shop keepers really made it enjoyable. We will be back again soon!

Stopped in this historic old west gold mining town turned into great tourist attraction on our way to Yosemite. A fun place to learn about the gold rush era with living history demonstrations and docent tours. There are shops and a museum. Homemade candy in an old fashioned candy store is a must stop. Don’t leave town before having a frosty mug of homemade sarsaparilla!

Great place to relive a piece of American history. Authentic old western mining town, with a real stagecoach and staff dressed in period costumes and shops on a real Main street. An excellent and very inexpensive (no admission) place to visit for a few hours with the kids.

Columbia State Historic Park is an amazing gem hidden in plain site. I love visiting myself and always insist that our visitors come for the day. Everyone always has a good time. No matter how many times you visit, it is always different. From watching the candy makers at Nelson's to watching the candle makers and the blacksmith.
