We booked Mountain Spirits for a family holiday weekend.  We had 11 people so I booked a cabin that slept 12.  When we arrived around 9:00 PM we found the bottom floor of the cabin freezing and the upstairs hot.  The uneven temperature meant we had to deal with the upstairs being extremely warm in order for the folks on the lowest floor to be even remotely warm.  The real issue however was discovered when we started to get ready for bed.  We pulled out the sofa beds and discovered the mattresses had springs exposed and although it is expected that sofa sleepers are not going to be the most comfortable you should at least be able to sleep on them without snagging your clothes on exposed springs.  My son's jeans were torn when he snagged them getting off the bed.  We ended up heading out to Walmart at 11:00 PM to buy air mattresses and bedding as we also found there was only one set of sheets and a couple extra blankets.  There were plenty of pillows.  Overall I was really disappointed with this cabin.  We have stayed at Dollywood cabins several times and this was the first time we were disappointed.  Not sure what happened but this cabin was not very clean and definitely should not have been listed as sleeping 12.  My advise is if you book with them arrive early so you can do a walk through while they are still in the offices and can address any issues you have.

Dec. 23-27, 2017- Crosswinds Cabin

While my family and I enjoyed the cabin there were things we noted after checking in. The first thing was that the comforters were dirty so one member decided to wash theirs. While the cycle was going the person looked into the washer to find a base full of dark dirty water indicating that those comforters had not been washed in some time. This prompted everyone to do the same and it yielded the same results evidence that the comforters had not been clean in a long time. The second problem was that stains (pet) were in several places in one of the bedrooms so the carpet had not been cleaned between our visit and the previous guest. After calling the main office and voicing our concern we were told that since we washed all the comforters that problem was resolved and that with such high turnover rate there was no time to get the carpet cleaned between guest because there would be no time for the floors to dry.  We found both reasons very unacceptable. The third and final thing was we requested trash pick up the day after Christmas when the office opened for normal hours and was told someone would pick it up, that never happened so the next day when time to check out we were piling trash up on the porch because the bear bins were full and we had to have all the trash out the cabin before departing.

We stayed in serenity now. Beautiful views but not very clean. The cabin was up on the hill by itself and nice parking area. The couch was very old and fake leather and the leather was flaking off everywhere. A piece of leather got in my 1 year old sons eye. Also, the nights were cold and the heat was fixed so we could not turn the heat over 73 degrees. My son also almost picked up a scorpion! If he would've something bad may have happened to him! Dollywood needs to update the furniture in this cabin and spray for bugs more. The views were beautiful but the 2 incidents we had were scary!  We told the front desk about the scorpion and they weren't too concerned with it.

Cabins were very nice. Heating a little uneven as the master bedroom got very warm overnight while the loft was a bit chilly. Overall cabin accommodations were great and had beautiful deck views of the smoky mountains

We stayed at Peaceful Retreat. Had a great time, customer service was great. Cabin was clean. There is room for improvement on the cabin in general. I do wish all the rooms would have a dresser or something to set the suitcases on. And there was no light in the bottom floor bathroom.  The convenience and special treatment (better parking & ticket prices) you get at Dollywood is wonderful.
