This place is awesome. Old school hardware store with a staff that knows what they are talking about. If your a real DYI person put this place at the top of your list.

Really surprised by the recent reviews.  I had the shower drain break in my house and after driving and calling everyone within 50 miles for a drain or adapter for 1 3/4" pipe we ran here in the morning when they opened.  Dave was incredibly helpful to my sister and I, taking apart the pieces needed and showing us exactly what to do.  Once we got it fixed, it turned out that my pipe was ALSO cracked!  Back to Don's we went.  As soon as we walked in, the other man who works there immediately saw the pipe in our hands and asked if that was what we needed and took us over to get it.  He ALSO opened up the packages and showed us exactly how to replace and repair it using the existing pipe.  Plumber would've been over $100 for this and my sister and I got it done in under $35 and in under an hour thanks to the employees at Don's.  Very impressed.  The part I needed IS cheaper on Amazon but the extra $10 was worth it to have someone tells us EXACTLY what to do without talking down to us at all.

Very very helpful guys in this store. Very polite. And gets you in and out for cheapest price around. They pretty much have everything you could need. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you guys, got my hot water tank up and going again.

Sent a friend (female) up to Don's to get a capacitor for an air conditioner. She was helped at the parts counter and asked for the part. The guy told her he would test it for her. He came back and told her it was good and to let the professionals take care of it. $350 dollars later after the professionals came out and checked it, it was the capacitor anyway. Sending someone away because they are female is just ridiculous in this day and age. There are women out there that can handle tolls better than some men. If I could give a half star it is still too much.

Had a unique plumbing emergency that couldn't be solved with multiple trips to Home Depot, Menards or Lowes. My dad suggested Dons, even though I was sure such a small mom and pop store wouldn't have to random piece I was looking for. Walked in and was greeted by friendly staff, Dave immediately asked me what I needed and I explained the issue. When I showed him the part I needed replaced he walked me right over to the exact piece, which im sure isn't sold anywhere else around here. He explained to me step by step how to install it, what extra tools and stuff we would need. Super helpful and not at all condescending and I asked him a million questions. Went home and attempted to install the piece, turns out the pipe was cracked as well. Went back to get that replaced. Seconds after walking in the door, pipe in hand, another gentleman (not Dave) asks if I need to replace the pipe I'm holding. Took me right to it, sold me the tools to cut it and the couplings required to piece it all together. Took it to the cashier, who is basically the grandma we all wish we had. Checked out, installed the parts and officially have a working shower again. I would rather support a smaller hardware store than a big box and I would suggest this place to anyone.
