When I initially made my reservation, it was for a mid-sized car, after two levels of free upgrades, it became a full sized car. I called both the store and customer service to verify, went up there twice, and called again before leaving the house just to verify they’d have the vehicle I’d need. 

I made sure so many times, and “annoyed” them so much that one lady behind the counter made the comment: “everyone has been on time today. It’ll be ready.” Well, when I came to get the rental...”the car isn’t ready. We have a truck for you though...” 

Ummm, no. I made the reservation for a car. I’m traveling 500 miles. I needed the car. Not a gas drinking Dodge Ram...which was still at the service center and wasn’t ready, either.

 This enterprise obviously can’t manage their business, their cars, or keep their word. I won’t  be back. 

This is the worst enterprise rental agency I’ve experienced.

This would be a five star review for this location, but I am going to relate my experience for another store:
Shockingly horrible service at the Smithfield NC location.  They canceled my car after I unfortunately ran slightly late and had nothing left to rent me.  I made this reservation 3 months in advance of my vacation, and they email confirmed me 1 month before, and they call confirmed me the afternoon before, yet when I arrived, as I said slightly late, they informed me they rented my car.  A simple call to me before doing that would have had me there in ten minutes to complete my rental.
   When I expressed my concern about how horrible this was, the "manager" (who would not disclose his name?!) told me he could help,  but refused to do anything to help and that we needed to leave his store.  He is a clown, and his store is a joke.  In enterprises defense we did manage to rent a car from their Goldsboro location to save my vacation and it was a great experience and the woman who helped me there was amazing and could give that other ignorant caveman lessons in customer service.

The staff is friendly and amazing. 
During my wait time they had me smiling and laughing. I actually enjoy going to pick up my cars for work just so I can say hello to them.

I made an online reservation Thursday afternoon for a departure time of noon the following day. I received a call the following morning saying that my reservation could not be accommodated and that it was canceled. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. I've added an extra star because I received a phone call, but I was not offered anything what so ever for the inconvenience this has caused. I was told to call 1800-RENT-A-CAR to complain. Goldsboro is extremely limited on rental options so I am now left having to travel out of town, renting there, and trying to find parking for my vehicle at expense. If I was not "confirmed" then I would have no complaints here...

I was interested in renting a vehicle for Holiday travel. However, I was denied the renting privilege because I have an out of state license. Then I was refused the valid option of having the rental in my mother’s name and list name as a driver. Enterprise is a joke. Very unprofessional and not courteous w/ these forever and always changing policies! I will never give my business to this company ever again. Officially done. I’ll do business with a competitor.
