Guitar Center, as an entity? They're OK. But that's about as far as i can get. The corporatization of something as simple as a music shop almost makes you lose innocence, but these guys could be much worse. The staff are friendly and generally just let you do your thing, unless you need them! The selection of equipment is great, ranging from simple cables/wires, to DO lighting equipment and such. Awesome place! Not so awesome company.

Do you know how to restring a ukulele? Well, since I have had it for less than 2 hours, I don't.. and neither did Noah, but he said with a smile "If I don't know how to do it, I'll figure it out shortly." Within five minutes, not only had he restrung and tuned it, he had also shown me how to do it in the future. Thanks for the help and the knowledge. Not to be cliche, but you guys rock!

So, I bought a guitar on March 10, 2018. The guitar I initially purchased was a floor model acoustic guitar, Yahama brand. I received a discount on the purchase. Upon getting home I realized that the action was a little too high. I brought it in and Alex the guitar technician did an excellent job. Upon bringing it home, within a few days, I noticed a slight buzz on the A string between the 4th and 6th fret. I brought it in to get looked at and it turns out that the truss rod might not be anchored sufficiently. So, it was offered that I exchange it for the same model. However, due to not having it in stock right now, I would be without a guitar for a week or so. Well, Alex negotiated me being able to take the guitar home and when the new one arrives Guitar Center will call me in to come and pick my guitar up. This person Alex is an excellent and very helpful employee.

Edit 20171113: A thanks to Steve @ Ft. Collins who spent a bunch of time to help me find a speaker to use with amp simulations on my multi-effects pedal. Unfortunately, what I thought it would sound like from demoing in the store didn't match what I was trying at home, and Steve was very helpful in processing a return and giving me suggestions to try next time. ---------------------- Reading some of the low reviews, I'm wondering if I just keep getting lucky when I visit this Fort Collins store. First walked into the Fort Collins store in August 2016 to look at acoustic guitars (first one). A friendly staff member listened to what I was looking for, pointed out a few models to try out (all reasonably priced and under the budget I was looking to spend), and then left me to my own devices to play around. After I found two potential ones, I asked the guy if he could play both so I could get a feel for how they sound when played by someone who wasn't a novice, and he more than obliged. Walked out the same day a happy new owner of my first acoustic, a Taylor 214ce. Fast forward to December 2016, I walked into the same store looking at electric guitars. Same staff member that helped me with the acoustic helped me toy around with electrics; again, very friendly and with zero pressure. Walked out the same day with a new Gibson Les Paul Studio. When I brought the Les Paul in to have a tech look at a malfunctioning nob, again I had quick, super helpful service that resolved the issue. So far, my three visits have been fantastic. Look forward to continued patronage.
