Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA Holiday

About

We are a wooded, quiet family campground nestled at the base of the Massunuttun Mountain and adjacent to the George Washington National Forest.

Story

Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA invites you to this quiet, tree-shaded family campground. This KOA is in the heart of Shenandoah Valley. It's an easy on/off I-81 Exit 257, 4 miles from the interstate. You'll find big-rig friendly pull thru sites, Camping Cabins, Deluxe Lodges and secluded tenting. Enjoy warm days and cool nights at the base of Massanutten Mtn. Take a short drive to wineries, antiques, caverns, Civil War battlefields, canoeing and Skyline Drive. Lounge by the pool, fish in the pond or explore the mountain-biking / hiking trail that leads into George Washington National Forest from KOA. Enjoy the free mini golf, Ping-Pong, horseshoes, basketball, playground, tetherball court, small game room and a pet run. In summer, KOA offers "HEY" rides, ice cream socials, movies under the stars and theme weekends with planned activities. This KOA offers breakfast on weekends and now has pizza!

Such nice people. Cabin rustic, but comfy. Don't run the microwave at the same time as the spaceheater - blows the electricity. Very charming. Snowed. Shower & restroom immaculate.

This is one of the worst campgrounds we have been to ever. I wouldn't come back here if it was free. If you have dogs, there is no point in bringing them because they supposedly have to be on a 6' leash at all times even on your camp site. Even though this rule is only enforced on certain campers. Others this rule does not apply. Not to mention the amount of rules and restrictions they have on everything. The stress they add is not worth it at all. Find somewhere else.

This KOA was very nice. We were here in April, so the pool was not open; however, they have a catch-and-release fishing pond, kid's park, and dog park available right now. Before the summer season begins, they will add a frisbee throw. The cabins are clean, quaint, and very nice. There is a TV, mini fridge, heater, small table with 2 barstools, ceiling fan, A/C, and microwave inside each cabin. They also offer free wi-fi (which really isn't a camping necessity for us, but for those that need wi-fi, it is available). Our cabin slept 4, and there was plenty of room for all 4 people. You do need to bring your own linens if you don't want to pay extra for them (they do have them available for rent, if needed). They also welcome friendly pets, but there is a pet fee. One major benefit is the space between cabins--your cabin is not right beside another cabin or camper spot. This is a great vacation spot for anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors!

Best KOA we've stayed at so far! It's clean, beautiful, wooded, lots to do with the kids (pool, playground, mini golf). There is a great little dog park. They have a cafe for breakfast, take orders for pizza, have fun events going on. We really love this place. The kids LOVED this place. The staff is very accommodating and attentive. We will definitely come back again!

Not 40 ft long 5th wheel friendly. Probably nice in warmer weather. Just an overnight stop heading north.
