Of all the Virginia state parks this is one of the most phenomenal especially in March and April with the bluebells are coming out. It’s has over 28 miles of hiking trails it follows the snaking path of the South Shenandoah River with the backdrop of the Fort Valley mountains right in front of you for a most picturesque setting. There’s something for everyone here you can camp you can bring your RV you can rent a cabin you can go hiking you can go horseback riding you can call any number of companies it go kayaking or canoeing down the rapids. I find it quite impossible to be bored in this park. The trails are always interesting and very different and the views are spectacular no matter where you are in the park. The best part is the staff there always very professional very courteous and helpful. They even loaned me bug spray one time!!

One of the best state parks in the country. It offers excellent views. There many trails that are clearly marked. There is also a river running along the park. There is ample parking for many cars. There are multiple picnic areas with grills and bench tables. There are also nice and clean bathrooms. I also liked the visitor center which offers more information about the park. Entrance fee is $5, as of March 2018. Highly recommended if you are around Shenandoah!

Great place to get away to. And when I say get away I mean get AWAY! no cell service! Also I know the park has no control who comes and hikes but liberals are in their element here and feel more than free to make themselves known. Will not hesitate harassing anyone who doesn't fit their mold.

This is a beautiful park that we return to several times a year. It is clean, quiet and so relaxing. Setting up is easy with spacious pull through sites. The only negative things I can think of is that the sites are all 2 point (no sewer hookups) and cell phone reception is non-existent. An emergency phone located in the camping area would be a great addition for safety purposes. All in all this park is close to perfect.

It is a really cool state park. It has both a mountain and a valley as well as the scenic Shennendoah River. Clean restrooms and washer and dryer within the facility!
