The creators of 18 Seaboard and Cantina 18 are excited to announce the opening of their third restaurant, Harvest 18, in Durham!

Story

Harvest 18 of the 18 Restaurant Group, opened in April 2014 in Durham, N.C. Located in the Southpoint region, Harvest 18 is a neighborhood eatery offering chef-driven cuisine with over 80 % of it food sourced from N.C. farmers and purveyors. Executive chef and owner Jason Smith, leads a culinary team focused on creating seasonal menus and is committed to supporting the area’s natural resources by reinvesting over $500,000 annually through his local purchases. Harvest 18 is dedicated to staying true to its southern roots in the kitchen by working with more than 50 local purveyors, and in the dining room where hospitality is of the utmost importance.

Came for lunch today and had such a nice meal that we came back for dinner. Brought the dogs, sat outside, and had a great meal. Definitely a place to sample great farm to table food at a very fair price. And if you drink, they have a nice selection of wines. Update - try them for Sunday Brunch. Great meal for a great price.

Had a great brunch here. Some of the best meatloaf i have ever tasted. This is a high quality experience with a low key vibe. The prices are so reasonable i almost could not believe it!

Some of the moms at my sons school put together a packet of fun stores to stop by during weekend errands. Some local and chain kids salons were listed, barbers for dad's and day spas for the moms. After spending the day zipping around that shopping center and mall all day. It was nice to eat at a wonderful local restaurant! Would highly recommend it to anymore! Also kid friendly! I was sure that was placed on my packet as a mistake, but no mistake! They gladly take kids and even have an outside eating place! Except it is getting cooler now..

Brian has been our server several times in the last year. Brian is excellent. We have had many good meals at Harvest 18. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I could go on about the pork shank or the rib eye or the collard greens or the green beans or any number of items on the menu. Go try it!

Sanitation and common sense lack at this restaurant. They re-use their menu, yes, the one kids and adults touch and by those who don't wash their hands. They re-use it under the food you eat and the cooks touch it and then touch your food. Let me explain. My GF and I sat at the bar (yes, you know who we are) and received the Fish and Chips (shared the plate but each of us had their own fish) but under each piece of fish there was a printed piece of paper. I wondered what it is, I said to my GF that I hope this is not what I think it is. So I ask about the printed piece of paper to which the bartender replied with pride and sanity that since the restaurant prides itself in self sufficiency they reuse their menus. The bartender said the piece of paper should have been under the cup with the sauce but it got executed wrong. WHAT? Are you under the influence of vapors from the drinks you serve? At this point I felt my stomach flip, I remained calm and the evening ended on a good note. But for 2 days after I could not eat anything and you know what else happened, no need for details. So, who in the right mind does this? Think about it for a second. The Public health department also received an email from me.
