Really good service in Hertz Duarte! The best agent , Alex, I've ever met! I picked up the mini van at Hertz Lax international airport and paid 40 dollars per day for upgrade. When I went home I just found the automatic doors couldn't active. I went to Hertz Duarte and asked for a help. Alex was so nice. He spent 10 mins to check the system but still couldn't use. Then he found the similar mini van for me to exchange it. He's help me a lot. Totally recommend!

Only reason I gave as many stars as I did is because the guy helping me felt so bad about how much was going wrong on their end that he gave me a free upgrade and was incredibly patient and nice. I spent hours here trying to pick up my car rental. Their system was down for forever with no end in sight. On top of that, my rental cost went up because I originally was supposed to pick it up the night before at 6:00. Apparently they close at that time . I was a little confused why the online system would allow me to choose a pick up time for closing hours when no one is there and subsequently lose my reservation. The thing is though, I realized this on my way there (before they were closed) I called over 20 times on my way there well before they closed and no one picked up. I lost my reservation without being able to speak to someone about it because either they were extremely busy or they closed extremely early. I got there 10 minutes early and the doors were locked, lights off, with no one in sight and no one answering the phone. My rental went up about $150 dollars because of that. In the morning when I went back after dealing with customer service to re-do my reservation (they wouldn't allow me to keep my original price) the system was down for 4 hours and I couldn't re-reserve at another place since they wouldn't let me keep my reservation price here either... It was a mess. As I said, other than all that, the man helping me was so incredibly nice and felt so bad for everything, he did what he could to make my experience as pleasant as possible. I greatly appreciated and wish I could justify giving even more stars for the rest of my experience.

The entire staff have always been polite, courteous, and more than willing to give you the best deals for the needs you have. In the event the car you reserved online isn't available, they upgrade at no extra cost whatsoever.

I normally don't write reviews unless the experience truly stands out, either good or bad. Unfortunately this one was not good. I reserved my rental for pick up at 6 pm only to find out they lock their doors just before 6 pm!! . When I called at 5:30 to let them know I was coming from Fullerton, I was told that their system closes down at 6, and that they needed to start the process, in person, BEFORE 6pm otherwise they could not complete the rental process... Since when does the world wide Web and all of our technology shut down at 6 pm??? And why was it an option then to make my reservation at 6??? Driving through traffic and worrying all the way there, I arrived at 5:58 by my cell phone's clock!!! Now, only to find their doors locked, with one salesman still helping a customer and the other salesman handing him his time card to leave. They ignored me and my knocks on the door during that time. When I continued to knock, the remaining salesman had no choice but to open the door as the then customer was turned looking at me. When he finally opened the door, he smugly said, we are closed its after 6 and did I have a reservation...clearly I had one and I assumed they knew I was coming after 3 frantic phone calls from myself and then my husband within the last 30 minutes!!! When the salesman finally finished with the first customer, about 6:34 now, I find out that the car I reserved wasn't clean or available! I was then offered two cars that were both down grades from my reservation. When I let the nervous saleman know that I reserved a higher class vehicle, which was already paid online...he then offered me an upgraded car. Really??? Not to my surprise, their system and the world wide Web was still up and functioning somewhere close to 6:50 pm!! Oh and did I mention that while we were out inspecting the vehicle, another customer arrived with a dealership representative to pick up her rental....how was that ok???? I thought they were closed and their system shut down at 6 pm!! Needless to say, I can see from the other reviews regarding customer service this isn't a business that I would use again...
