I went in for a diagnosis of leaking fuel from my gas tank on a 2007 Chevy Tahoe. I notice a couple of days before I smelled a strong odor of fuel, and took a look under the truck and saw fuel under the tank. I called John Thornton Chevrolet, thinking this was the best option to pinpoint exactly where the leak was coming from. I spoke with Tim from services and he told he could diagnose the problem for $95 bucks. So I took it in and drop it off. Tim called me back about an hour later and said you have a leak coming from the top of your tank. He said that it was either a hose which would be $853 or it was the fuel pump which would be $1500. So I was back at the point before I went to the dealership. I ask Tim what did I pay $95 for? He said now you at least know the two options it could be coming from. He said that it would be too much work for $95, to drop the tank and pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from. I asked him why wouldn't you tell me this when I told where I saw fuel at on the tank? He said that $95 is for a basic diagnosis and if I wanted to pinpoint exactly where the leak is I would have to pay $600 for them to drop the tank. I then asked him why would I pay you $95 to tell me, something I already knew. He went back to saying you at least know it is the hose or the fuel pump now. At this point I was very fustrated, because the very reason I took my SUV to the dealership was because I knew they would be able to pinpoint where my leak was coming from. To make a long story short, I feel like these guys are crooks, that gauge prices and take advantage of people all the time. I will be disputing this charge with my credit card company. Stay away from these guys, I will never do business with liars and conartists.

STAY AWAY... I will NEVER do business here again. Will have you waiting numerous hours then when you check to see if the jobs complete they will tell you "just about" which results in to more waiting​. Went to get a rack and pinion replaced but instead they recommend to just get an alignment which still didn't solve the problem. Goes to show they didn't do a diagnostic test. Had a check engine light on and the only problem was the hose. They go and replace water pump degreasing engine, which wasn't a major need. The labor was more expensive than the parts. Wanted to keep my vehicle over the weekend and lied to me about they tried to contact me ,when I was waiting on their call all day.  Get my vehicle drive a little over half an hour to have my vehicle lose all coolant come to find out my house was cut. Ive heard dealerships will fix a problem and cause a minor problem so you can bring it back, never thought I'd be a victim. They're more about the money than a long-term customer. STAY AWAY.

Amazing body shop! I would never even consider taking my vehicle to any other repair shop! Rex Truett, the body shop manager makes sure the customer comes first and goes over and beyond to make sure my car is repaired right the first time and I never worry. Thornton Road Chevrolet Body Shop is incredible!

We appreciate everyone at John Thornton.  We were kept up to date during the process of having our ZL1 built.  Once we went to pick it up, everyone made the process as simple as possible.  Will definitely shop with John Thornton again!
