I've been waiting for a great sushi place in Durham since Yamazushi went reservations-only a few years ago. Finally, we have it! I knew this was the place when I walked in and smelled hints of green tea, soy sauce, sake, and sushi.

The fish at M Sushi is fantastic and extremely fresh. Even the tuna, which I usually avoid because it acquires a weird flavor pretty quickly, is mild and delicious. Eat slow, and savor every bite. 

Servers are helpful and knowledgeable, and prices at lunch are a really good deal for sushi this nice. I always end up getting the chef's choice, and have never been disappointed with filler pieces.

I hope to branch out and try more things - the small plates have excellent flavor combinations, so I'm excited to try the specialty rolls on another visit.

This place doesn't even open on Sundays or Mondays, because those are bad days to buy fresh fish. The dining area is also relatively small. This dedication to quality over quantity applies to everything about the restaurant. Knowlegeable servers and cooks, low-lit ambiance, and beautiful, creative dishes. Reservations strongly recommended- these guys get booked up!

This is hands down the best sushi I’ve had in the triangle. Consistently amazing each time I’ve gone. The eel avocado and rainbow roll are my favorites. As other reviews say, the wait time is unfortunately long (waited about 45 minutes after placing an order of 3 rolls for 2 people last time I came here), but this sushi is just so good I really don’t care about waiting. Check out this spot, you won’t regret it.

This place is very nice/cozy tucked away in the heart of dowmtown Durham. Very clean and well kept. Food and service is excellent. Perfect spot for a date with that special someone.

Sometimes I travel for work, and I love great food, this place had nothing less than a 5* from Google users, so I was thinking I had better get there quick. As I walk in at 15 min til close, I was warmly greeted, & lucky for me, I was by myself. There was only one seat open and it was mine! Better get your reservasions people, this place is on fire! Had the M Special & Futomake rolls and the Bourbon to drink. Thankful everything fell into place, everyone was great! I'm from Akron, OH and I will be making a special trip with my wife for this!
