I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is really casual and the staff is super friendly and nice. My go to is the "what a classy hen". It has a plain waffles with chicken cutlets and almond vanilla butter spread. It is sooooo good!!! Honestly, everything here is so great. My favorite side to get is the macaroni and cheese, which has great spices and bread crumbs added in. On of the cool things about Dames Chicken and Waffles is the variety of ways you can have chicken and waffles. They have countless combinations, which are all probably great. I would definitely recommend this place. The only down side is everyone loves this place, so it's sometimes hard to get a table.

Absolutely delicious! Service was exceptional and the wait staff very attentive. I had gotten the chicken cutlet, sweet potato waffles, and apricot-peach spread. The combination all together was exceptional. 

The decor was lovely. I know the wait at times could be long, but during the time that I had to gone there was little to no wait. When going there, just be sure to get the chicken and waffles. You won't be disappointed by any combination you get.

Oh my goodness, so freaking good.  Stopped in for dinner while visiting Durham.  My first chicken and waffles  experience and it was seriously yummy.  

My SO and I both had the Dame's Daily Dish, mine with legs and his with breast, could not have eaten another bite... the entree was a good amount of food.  

Dress was casual.  Bathroom clean. Stall was great.

Everything was great until I tried to put hot sauce on my chicken and the lid fell off and the hot sauce was on my waffles... Asked my waiter for another one and to also change the flavor waffle I had. Noticed that the hot sauce on the table next to us also had a loose top and told the waiter.  He came back w half a waffle the flavor I wanted and said " we usually make the customer pay for this but we will make an exception" REALLY?? Then he says the person who filled the hot sauce bottles didn't do their job right...hmmmm...so how am I responsible I'm thinking... Guess what?? A big fat $0 for a tip , filled out the survey with my experience and left... Very disappointed Dame's.. Can't say we'll be back..

What else is there to say about Dame's? This is a fixture of downtown Durham that I recommend every visitor to go to while in town. The food is top notch, and the service is awesome. You will not go wrong with any choice you make from their menu. Please be advised though, get there at or around opening to be able to get a seat, they tend to fill up very fast any day of the week.
