Story

This campground under a majestic stand of more than 50 mature cottonwoods is near the juncture of the Tongue and Yellowstone rivers and just six blocks from the downtown of this historic High Plains cow town. Take a downtown walking tour to see frontier buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Among them, see the Olive Hotel where "Gus" died in the epic frontier miniseries Lonesome Dove. Campers fish in the Tongue River (license required), swim in the heated pool, play horseshoes and relax in the social room as they surf the Web. Miles City's Range Riders Museum, at the site of old Fort Keogh, showcases a replica fort. The Custer County Art & Heritage Center includes 19th-century Native American photos by Edward Curtis.

This is the BEST KOA we've ever stayed at ... mainly because of the people. Kevin (the owner) is one of the nicest guys I've ever met - so helpful!!! In fact, all of the staff were nice & helpful!!! The campground is very nice too ... all the amenities you need. The electric service was strong and stable and the water tested good too. There was a fenced dog run that our Weim appreciated. The only negative is there are a lot of trees, which provide great shade, but also proved to be challenging in trying to get a satellite signal. We did get one even though it wasn't a strong one, but we got one!!! And that's because they actually took the time to change our site so we'd have a better chance!!! Super nice folks!!!

Easy in- easy out. Spacious sites. The young gentleman at the counter was very helpful, friendly, & professional. The gnats were about to drive us nuts but that's part of nature. Unfortunately there was a burning ban but that's not the fault of KOA. The swimming pool was nice with comfortable temperature. We will definitely stop here again on our travels.

Staff is great.. campground's location and setting are its downfall. Heavy equipment operation adjacent to the campground starts up at 6 a.m. The campground is located in a run-down area of town with no views and has alternating-facing spaces, so you share a common space with your neighbor. Fine place to stop over if you get in late and leave early. Also bathrooms adequate but not the cleanest.

Friendly staff with a clean facility The pool was great and clean. The park is well shaded and near the river where fishing and walking are easy to do. Close to the Range Riders Museum and the downtown area. Three blocks from a Saturday farmers market.

Friendly hard working staff. I beautiful treed sites. Close to the train tracks but the staff and amenities make it worth while. I definitely worth spending a few nights here.
