Dear Pep Boys,

I would like to share an AMAZING customer service experience I had at Pep Boys location #316, specifically with David Miller, the Assistant Service Manager.

On the evening of Friday 11/03/17, I was preparing a trailer we use for tailgating for a trip from Atlanta, Georgia to Athens, Georgia, to attend the Georgia vs. South Carolina football game on Saturday 11/03/17.

We use this trailer to transport equipment for a regular tailgate party we host with friends at Georgia home games, including tent, chairs, tables, speakers, mixer, satellite dish, generator and HDTV.

I filled the tires on the trailer with air, then proceeded to wash the trailer, when I noticed “bubbling” around the air valve on one of the tires.  Apparently, when I filled the tire with air, it had displaced the rear nut that holds the value in place, hence it was leaking air.

Recognizing that there was no way I could travel with a leaky valve, and it being 7:00 PM on a Friday night, I had no idea what to do, as I needed to leave Atlanta at 5:00 AM the next day.

I called a friend, who mentioned that the Pep Boys location nearby in Sandy Springs was open until 8:00 PM.  I had never been to a Pep Boys, as I thought it was only an automotive parts retailer, and did not know it performed service.  I quickly Googled the location, and off I went with the trailer in tow.

By the time I arrived, it was after 7:30 PM.  I went to the service counter where I met David Miller.  He was extremely nice, and knew exactly what needed to be done.  He explained it entailed jacking up the trailer, removing the wheel from the trailer, then removing the tire from the rim, resetting the valve into the rim by securing the nut that holds in in place, then remounting the tire on the rim, refilling the tire, testing the valve for leaks, rebalancing the wheel, then putting the wheel back on the trailer.

I fully expected David to say I should leave the trailer and they would address it in the morning, as it was near closing time.  Also, let me note that David had a cast on his hand due to a broken knuckle.

But David jumped right in and set to work.  And did it all himself.  With a broken hand.  And while he fixed the tire very quickly, it still required him to stay until after closing to get the work done.

Then, when I went to pay David for the work, he said “no charge”, “Go Bulldogs!”, and “just give us a good review on Yelp and Google”.

David single handedly (pun intended) saved a tailgate party for nearly 100 people.  I’d like to give him credit for Georgia beating South Carolina if I can :-)

Good old fashioned customer service and kindness never goes out of style.  David not only turned me into a customer of Pep Boys, but also an evangelist for your company.

I feel that David should get the recognition he deserves for a job well done by his management and the Pep Boys executive team, and felt compelled to share my amazing experience with you.

I needed 2 tires n an alignment. I waited forever. I was getting pissed. I spoke with David.  He apologized and compensated me. Superb customer service. I was so stressed and was about to loose my mind. He made me feel much better. Sometimes its just the little things that count.  He doesnt realize how much he  helped me out. I'm so grateful for him!

Its a hit or miss whenever i go to this place. Either i cannot find someone to help me or when i do they are not very helpful. Honestly i am not too happy with the service , but the prices are good

PepBoys cancelled my trailer hitch installation appointment without letting me know. Total disconnect between website and real life. 
P.S. U-Haul did the same day Installation in no time. Thanks U-Haul!

I always go to Pepboys for tire changes. The  service is exceptionally good, fast and friendly. I especially would like to thank Zack and Earl. It took Zack exactly 20 minutes to change my tire.
