To start, understand Woodland Mall is the degenerative mall and Rivertown (which is newer) is the less urban of the two. I haven't been back to suburbia in over five years and this location has only gotten worse. Sears has been removed which was the worst isle (of four) with the bus terminal outside bringing in the apartment dwellers, public nuisance and petty crime. However that hasn't deterred the undesirables. Empty stores galore, kiosks with GED employees selling trinkets and otherwise a barren wasteland. Here I bring you T-Mobile, a medium sized kiosk (not a store) where grown men with no career prospects peddle cell phones well into their mid thirties and beyond, sadly. My grandmother, who came back from Italy only a few years go to live in the states needed an iPad and some basic education on plans. When we approached the cage-for-humans kiosk the young woman was polite but sadly unknowing of the device she was using. My grandmother’s first question “what are you using in your hands”, which mind you was an iPad and to our dismay she said “oh, I don’t know…” That sort of set the temperature. Moving forward we spoke with the other employee a grown man with a shirt three sizes too small. He made an attempt to sell us an iPad with financing, which he did not have in stock. Obviously this was a waste of everyones time, nobody wants to be in this mall if they don’t have to. We left, well rather walked away since there is nothing to leave as this is a stand and not a proper store. Apple was amazing, as usual and we walked away with an iPad and on our way to the cage-for-humans kiosk. All we needed was to activate the device and perhaps change a plan. Unbeknownst to me, while I was on the phone the gentlemen with the tiny shirt and arms to big for his head sold my grandmother a sim card for a phone that didn’t exist and with a new number nobody needed nor asked for. When asked about activating the iPad he quoted us at $50 (for a sim card), once outside I called the nearest T-Mobile store and was quoted $25. I asked where the extra $25 came from, they couldn’t answer. So I spent the next ten minutes on customer service where they cancelled the new number and transferred the sim to the iPad. T-Mobile has a horrible reputation for being nefariously urban, beware as these little kiosk people are peddling their wares as if on the streets of baghdad, or any such third world country.

Richie is very helpful and knowledgeable. He worked around what I was having trouble with at T-Mobile. I went to the store on Alpine and stood in line for an hour, and nobody there knew what they were doing.
