Went to pick up my car on 7/8 which I had a reservation for and was told that they had no cars and I would have to wait. I was quite irate and in an effort to make me feel better the agent tells me that the guy sitting in the waiting area is also waiting for a car. He couldn't tell me how long that would be and then asked me if I wanted to cancel the reservation, which I did and walked across the floor and got a really nice car for a better rate at Dollar Rental. My advice would be to stay away from this company. They just didn't seem to care at all.

Please learn from my mistake and rent your car with a more reputable company. I rented a car three months ago from LaGuardia and am still getting bills on my credit card for hidden fees. Each toll that is billed to your rental car incurs a $25 dollar “service fee” (yes, per toll) from advantage. The rate we were quoted was not what we were asked to pay upon returning the rental. We reserved an SUV only to be told there were none available when we got there. The battery in our car died twice during a three day rental. Customer service is atrocious, managers are unwilling to help because their business model is based on ripping off their customers. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Rent elsewhere and save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and money.

If you live with 65 miles of this location, WARNING: you have to have a flight ticket or comprehensive insurance already. You can't buy insurance there, they will NOT rent you a car. 
I rented through Hotwire (no warning of this problem) and the lady behind me rented through Expedia. We were both turned away.

I'm not aware of any other rental company with this requirement. Won't be attempting to rent from Advantage.

Wish I could give zero stars... Got here and they're out of cars even if you have a reservation....10 more people behind us too.  icing on the cake is because we live in NYC we have to show proof of an auto insurance policy and coverage otherwise we can't rent a car....  credit card coverage doesn't count! only way to bypass is if you have a plane / train ticket to show proof you traveled here otherwise if you live within 65 miles you need your own auto insurance coverage proof.  (We don't have a car because we live in the city- hence booking through Hotwire to have a car for the weekend!) absolutely ridiculous and would have been nice to know... never using Advantage again!

One star is too generous. NY state residents cannot rent a car without existing auto insurance. No notice or warning just a rude no at the counter
