Don't rent with Avis, they put my life in danger by renting a non winter equipped car in winter conditions. Then refused to pay for related charges when the said car couldnt drive from A to B like it was rented for. I tried to talk to them only to be ignored, transfered around, misled and ultimately sickened of rental companies gimmicks.

I checked availability online the night before, but didn't make a reservation. When I walked into the office the agent told me they don't do walk-ins and don't have any availability even though I overheard people upgrading and switching car models, multiple times, while I was waiting. About 15-minute wait, two workers, nice and polite. Too bad they don't care about walk in customers.

Had a reservation at 9 am. Got there at 8 am when they opened today. Asked the manager, Richard if I could get the car sooner. He said it wouldn't be available until 9 am. Waited while he helped other customers for 45 mins. When I asked him if the car would be ready at 9 am -- he cancelled my reservation and said I wouldn't be getting a car, like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. Don't risk ruining your vacation with this rude, arrogant a-hole.
