Very personable staff. It was very clear that they loved and cared for their place and their customers immensely. We had a reservation in another hotel which fell through, but we called Big Sky Lodge and they stayed open late to accommodate for us. 
Wonderful, wonderful people.
The view is great.
Although it may be an older place, don't let that dissuade you. The rooms are very clean and well kept.

Would absolutely go back.

This is a great place to stay!! The view from the picnic area is amazing day and night but the night is fantastic. The rooms were clean and bug free. I had a great breakfast and the coffee was great. I would definitely recommend this Lodge. It was near Mt Rushmore. There is a nice picnic area with a hot tub. Was very happy with the staff, very friendly to everyone.

 Very pleasant staff. Friendly. The breakfast is ok. Not a lot of choices. The rooms were cozy, a little dated but clean. It's the week before the rally, so there was tons of bikes, but very little noise. I was pleased with that! They assisted me with my laundry, which is very reasonably priced. I enjoyed my stay for sure!
