Another reviewer said it best, "If I could give them 0 stars, I would". I have just returned from quite possibly the worst customer service experience of my life. My father had called previously to reserve a vehicle for my brother, who is home on leave from the Coast Guard. Upon walking up to the counter, we informed the older Caucasian woman (I regretfully did not get her name) that we had a reservation for a car under the name ‘Kistler’. We stood there for a few seconds in silence, while she looked at us blankly. Eventually, the woman spat out, “I’m waiting on a credit card and driver’s license”. At that point, it was clear this woman was not going to provide a pleasant experience. It was as if she was completely bothered that we were trying to rent a car from her. My brother mistakenly handed her a secured credit card. After entering some information, in the rudest tone possible, the woman held up his card and blurted out “Declined”. My dad informed my brother and this woman that the woman he made the reservation with, Michelle, had told him that we would be able to use a debit card to reserve the car. Michelle never mentioned a credit check. My brother gave her his debit card and the woman acted completely annoyed that we wanted to continue the process. She then asked for his social security number and never mentioned that she was running a credit check. She then said, very loudly, “credit check was declined”. My dad then explained that Michelle never mentioned anything about a credit check when he made the reservation. This woman proceeded to accuse my dad of lying, stating, "Michelle sits right down there. She's worked her for 17 years. I highly doubt she failed to tell you that". I then asked if I could rent the vehicle and add my brother as a driver and she bluntly responded, “No, he’s declined”. I turned to my brother and told him that I would rent a vehicle and he could drive my personal car. She interjected, “No, you can’t do that”. I explained to her that, yes, I could let him drive my vehicle and that I would be renting a vehicle for myself, but not from her. We walked down to Enterprise, rented a vehicle for 8 days and had a wonderful experience. I do not know this woman’s name, but I can tell you that I do not plan on doing business with Budget ever again. I would suggest you handle this situation, as the other reviews on Google show numerous other customers with identical scenarios. There's no telling how many other experiences have gone unreported. Her attitude and behavior are both completely unacceptable. As a company with direct competition less than 20 feet away, I'd be concerned.

I rented a car from this company last month on the 12th and I returned the vehicle back on the 14th in the exact same condition as I'd picked it up. Last week I received a notice claim that the car was damaged. I asked for more information and the case manager stated along with photos that one portion of the bumper was disconnected for the rest of the body and the other side of the bumper looked as if someone tried to paint it which is true it does look that way but I didn't do it. Now I'm stuck trying to dispute these allegations. I wish I had rented from Enterprise where you inspect the vehicle with a member from their team.

If i could give them a 0 i would, the older lady at the counter was the absolute rudest person i have ever met, people like her is what gives the company bad rating and loss customers. You call the 1-800 number to set up a reservation and when you get there its a total different price. Then you try to call customer service, you obviously dont talk to someone who speaks good english but tell you there name is Michelle or John, when its not their real name bc they cant understand a word you say to them. The location is no help and any questions you have the refer you back to the 1-800 number which is absolutely ridiculous. The rolling of their eyes and then when your not done talking to them they push you out of the way to talk to someone else like your not even there, pretty much if they ignore you, will go away. They only have one location in mobile and when its the weekend what they dont tell you including holidays they jack the price up,

Literally the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. Apparently you can't pay with a credit card under a different name than the driver renting, even if they're family. I can understand this, however the website says NOTHING about this. We tried to cancel and do another order 3 TIMES, all of which we had to do over the phone because Russel our sales associate apparently wasn't able to help in any way. Throughout this entire 45 minute encounter I asked multiple times "what can we do to make this work, what can I do to rent a car today" and he just kept sitting there and arguing that I was wrong. When we cancelled and changed the order the third and final time, he had my card and ID in his hand, I went through the whole process of making another order (on the phone of course), and when I finished he looked up and said "we don't take debit cards". I reassured him it was a debit/credit card through Visa and Commerce Bank, it is connected to my checking but has a line of credit as well. He could not understand this and just smiled and said "sorry". After we had been there for an HOUR trying to figure everything out. We walked down to Enterprise and within 5 minutes we were walking out with keys and a rental agreement. I don't know if it's Budget themselves or our spiteful, lazy sales associate Russel, but don't even waste your time with Budget. It's not worth the stress or time.

Never again!! worst customer service they don't accept debit card.They keep on saying that both primary and additional driver must have credit cards .I reserved my car via USAA program which says that no additional driver fee,but the person on desk keep on saying that you should pay additional driver fee .I got frustrated and went to enterprise which was beside budget this guys are more flexible and within 5 minutes I got my rental car.
