Un professional. The customer service representative is very rude. I saw him fighting with the customer and yelling at someone on the phone. Besides they have old cars. I have to return my car after 2 hours due to over heating. Don't rent from this place.

I had a reservation to pick up a car at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 6th. I arrived at 9:00 to find the location still closed with a line having formed outside. The posted opening time was 9:00. I called customer service to ask that I be able to pick up a car at another location as I needed to be somewhere two hours away at noon.

The customer service call took awhile due to being on hold and needing to be transferred. As I was talking to the representative, the counter agent walked up and unlocked the door. It was now 9:28 AM and the employee was wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants. I told the customer service representative on the phone that I no longer needed to transfer locations as the agent had just arrived. 

I was provided a $20 coupon for my inconvenience by the customer service rep on the phone. He told me that I could use it on this rental or a future one. After waiting in line, I made my way to the counter. It was now approaching 10:00. The counter agent told me that he would not honor the coupon, because I didn't have a Budget account. I told him that the agent on the phone had created an account for me and gave him the coupon code. He again REFUSED TO HONOR THE DISCOUNT. 

I told him that I had just watched him manually enter a discount for the person in front of me, and that the reason I had this coupon was because the location was not open on time. He said "Yeah, I heard you on the phone when I got here. I forgot my keys at home and had to go back. At least I kept it to under a half hour. I've seen worse." 

At this point I am done with him. He then asks for my information and I think he is applying the discount. I get the keys to the car and the receipt and notice that I have been charged full price. Noticing this, I wait to get in the car then call corporate customer service again, because I know I am getting nowhere with the sweatpant-wearing, opening a business 30 minutes late isn't so bad counter agent. 

The corporate customer service rep is not helpful this time. She states that that she can't do anything other than what has already been done. She assured me that the discount will be applied when I return the car and offers me $20 off my next rental. Um, no, I don't want $20 off a future rental, because I won't be back.

This was mostly an all-around great experience. It would have been a perfect "10" if Budget had the vehicle I reserved. The difference was easy to overcome with our own personal vehicle ... just unfortunate that had to be a factor. That aside, I would recommend Budget - specifically the 11259 New Hampshire Avenue facility - to anyone looking for a good car and a good deal. The front desk representative named Oscar, who works at the aforementioned facility, represents the company particularly well.

The only good thing was the guy didn't check for damages thoroughly, not that we put any but still. When we picked this place for the moving truck it was because it was an 'AFTER HOUR' drop off spot. IT IS NOT. We picked it up in Texas at 8am on a Monday it needed to be back by 8am Sunday. We were done by Friday night so we went looking for it and the GPS is so hard to find it. IT'S ATTACHED TO THE SEARS AUTO CENTER, for people that aren't aware. When we finally found it we found out they didn't allow after hour drop offs and they don't open until 10am on Sunday. So we had to drop off Saturday. I'm glad we went through all this instead of dropping it off Sunday not knowing this and getting charged for an extra day.

Whereas I normally actually have a great experience with some of the workers here who actually treat me like a human being, this morning I had the unfortunate occasion to deal with an older, grey-haired Caucasian male who all but called me a "liar" and smugly waived policy memos in front of my face instead of dealing with me like a human being. HORRIBLE experience. I used to prefer this location rather than dealing with the poor parking at the Silver Spring office, but now I'll drive the extra mile just to deal with people who treat customers like me with respect.
