Decent restaurant for the town. They have quite a selection of bbq dishes most of which are super good. The outdoor patio is lovely on a sunny day although the waitress doesn’t come out very often.
I stayed overnight in Winchester, Va and the Cork Street Tavern was recommended . The La Quinta Hotels Winchester VA hotel where I stayed said the crab cakes are delicious. Let me tell you.. they were amazing and so was the Mac & cheese!!! When I pass through the area again I’ll definitely be stopping by again!
This was the only place open in Winchester when I arrived on a Monday at 10 pm. The server was exceptionally friendly, the beer selection was way above average, and the salmon was shockingly good for bar food. I was pleasantly surprised of my experience here. I’ll be back.Dine in: Yes
Good food and friendly service. Service was really slow which is why the 4 stars and not 5. Family friendly. Love that the smoking and no smoking sections are completely separated. We got the Corker Fries with the jalapeño ranch…SO good! The French dip was good, the burger was ok and the Southwest Shrimp Salad was excellent! We would definitely go back…just not when we’re in a hurry.
Great service! The best potato soup I’ve ever had. Ruben was huge. And the fries? Crispy on the outside, creamy hot on the inside. Place was hopping and the service was still top notch. Oh and the coffee wasn’t bitter. Nice and smooth. First time here but won’t be the last. If you want smoking make sure to go in the east door. Nonsmoking is the Patio entrance. Almost forgot. Mozzarella sticks are handmade! The wreckage. We were famished, but it all came out pretty!
Went in for a late afternoon meal. The food was good, wide selection and perfectly cooked. I had a burger that was big, flavorful, with a nice bun, fries freshly cooked and excellent slaw. My wife had a small steak with veggies, she enjoyed it. The atmosphere is rustic a real old time neighborhood bar feel, nice stone fireplace and historic photos. The large restaurant had a separate enclosed part with it's own bar for smokers. The beer selection was excellent with many available on tap, two sizes available. The prices were reasonable including the beer. We'll return again.
We had an enjoyable lunch eating in the west dining room. Portions are just right and service is fast and friendly.
I am only giving Court St. Tavern three stars based off of my most recent visit. I recently came into the Tavern after a networking event with my service dog. I was told immediately that my dog was not allowed to be inside even after I explained to the waitress that he was a service animal. The waitress stated that due to health code violations, he could not be inside the building. As a person that spent two decades in the military and earning the right to have a service animal, I was taken back by this statement. I even paused for about five seconds to give her time to ask the right questions when dealing with someone with a disability. After not being asked said questions, my party and I politely made our way to the patio. When the waitress came outside, I informed her that I wasn’t going to make a scene, but she was 100% in the wrong for denying us access to sit inside. I asked the waitress if the manager was in today and she replied very sneakily that she wasn’t. A few moments later, her manager who mysteriously appeared comes to the table to speak with my party and I. I informed her of the situation and she vehemently tried to defend her employee by saying that she was new, she didn’t know, and they had been in trouble before by the health department. She even had the audacity to say that she has taken her own dog who isn’t a service animal into establishments and when asked, lied and said her dog was a service animal. This obviously did not sit well with me so I had to educate her as well. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, a person can not be denied access or ejected from a premise unless 1 the animal is causing undue hardship to the business or 2, the animal poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others. Neither of these instances happened or were happening. When you know better, you do better and I feel that those two individuals didn’t learn anything from my calm but stern demeanor. Ignorance doesn’t give an establishment the right to deny access for a legit service animal - regardless if they had been burned in the past. If she the waitress was uninformed about this federal civil rights LAW § 51.5-44 or anything dealing with the ADA, it is on her the manager to train to this. My party and I received subpar service after this exchange but still payed and tipped well. I hope that these two learned something that day; I am also glad it was me instead of someone that could have chose to make a bigger scene. Please do better!
We arrived there on a random Thursday lunchtime because one of our party wanted a Reuben sandwich A reviewer on Google said they had their best Reuben at the Tavern, so we had to try!. We were a little surprised to see that they had a smoking area as well as a separate non smoking area that we chose. They had a good selection of pub food. We ordered the Fish n’ Chips, the beef Reuben and a Club Sandwich. We were a little apprehensive when our food arrived within minutes!! But everything tasted really good! The portions were generous and the price was quite reasonable! We will definitely be back!
I tried the beyond burger with the Vegan bread and cheese tonight. Would NOT recommend. Taste like cardboard
