Great little spot in Old Winchester for bourbon and whiskey lovers. The food is good and the staff is very helpful and excited to help you choose a drink. We were a little disappointed when we sat down though because we made reservations here for the piano bar only to find out that they changed from a piano bar to an oyster bar? I guess it makes sense to someone.
What a great little find for dinner. This was a busy night with a wedding party in one of the other rooms. The food came quickly and was delicious. We both finished our food...
The atmosphere was mellow and quiet. Prices are on the higher side; I had the Rockfish Oscar. It was good but I felt there wasn't much and I was still hungry. Overall good, if you don't mind spending the money.
Always a great experience. A great choice in Winchester for a fresh and creative meal. The menu and its ingredients rotate based on the season and blends flavors to form the perfect foods! We started out with their homemade biscuits, which are truly the best I've had coming from a carb lover. The chophouse salad was fresh and perfectly dressed. The cod goujons was fried to perfection, and aside from being perfectly seasoned, the preserved lemon tartar sauce that accompanied it was amazing! The scallops were also amazing, and I'm still obsessed with the succotash and sundried tomato/chimoy sauce!! The staff is always very helpful, punctual, and friendly. Everyone was very attentive and always making sure we had enough water and dishes were cleared immediately. Their attention to great service is truly superb. Ambiance is quaint and rustic with elegance. Perfect for date night! Highly recommend to try at least once though trust me, it'll turn into numerous occasions!
This is one of my personal favorite restaurants in the entire Winchester area. I have never had a bad time here, and the food is fantastic! The service is very good, and the overall vibe of the restaurant is great-- it's quiet, but inviting. I especially like it here in the fall and winter. There's something about the feel that just works. Anyway, I highly recommend everything here. I've had a lot of stuff here and I'd have it all again will have it all again.
Park in the parking garage :- and you get to walk in on beautiful brick streets, lunch was great, they do have gluten free buns, they ran out when I was in but gluten free diets have increased, I have celiac, it averages 1 in every 100 people, so I can fully understand them running out.
First of all, I have traveled the WORLD and eaten in the best restaurants all over and this is the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. Secondly, when I made our reservations I mentioned that we were celebrating my wife’s birthday but she has a dairy allergy. They whipped up a poached pear with berry compote and whipped egg white so that she could have dessert on her birthday. Jeffrey was an amazing and knowledgeable waiter. He told her to “Decide what she wanted and they would work around her allergy”. The care and attention paid to her needs so that she could enjoy her time without worry was unparalleled. This is now officially “our place” and we will be back!
Visited with a group of eight by a recommendation from local business personnel while on a business trip. We made a reservation and had a room to ourselves, which was lovely and spacious. The menu has a lot of interesting options and combinations that set Village Square apart from many other dining establishments. We started off with bread baskets and shrimp, neither lasted on the table very long as everyone enjoyed immensely. I was a little disappointed that we were unable to try the venison due to sourcing issues from New Zealand, but the steaks, scallops, and monkfish were big hits by the group. The house cocktails for the holidays were clever, and the two that were tried by the group were delicious. Parking: There is a nearby paid parking lot, some free parking but it's greatly limited due to the amount of businesses in the area.
February 23,2023 my best friend and I had dinner. While enjoying our time together we were asked by the hostess to leave! She said they were expecting other guests and needed the table. We had been there for 2.5 hours and spent $75 on our happy hour meals. I have NEVER been treated so rudely and to be honest the food was bland and nothing special. What a horrible way to treat guests!
Our breadbasket for three people had two slices of bread two extremely small pieces, those you get at the ends of a loaf. The steak was under seasoned and over cooked medium pink came out well done. They do not have children’s menu.
