Columbia MD is a very competitive place for auto repairs as there are many shops that are highly rated, but I don' have personal experiences with the others.  I have been a Dobbin's customer for 3 plus years.  I find them honest, reasonable, fast paced and precise.  They strive for customer satisfaction.  Keep up the good work Dobbin and hope you continue to do a good job.

As a former motor maintenance officer in the Army, I know a great shop when I see one. It starts by having a top-notch diagnostic team that can pinpoint a problem and repair it efficiently. My previous auto shop I used for over 20-years changed ownership, so I found Dobbin Auto Repair. I reviewed and checked out numerous shops from Silver Spring to Columbia. Dobbin Auto Repair impressed me by identifying the exact problem of a fan belt adjustment ($60) versus an air conditioner clutch replacement ($330). That was two years ago and their professionalism and honesty since then has been superb. 

Now, after having all my cars serviced there (3 Honda’s and a Volvo) I can say Richard Amani and his team really are great at what they do. They provide email maintenance service reminders and great service or repairs at a very reasonable labor price-point for the area. Getting my cars serviced or repaired economically and efficiently is a rarity in todays automotive business climate. They also have a great customer service team. The retro lounge music is an extra special pleasure of comfort to listen to when I wait for my car.

Have been a customer for years, but now thinking about exploring other options. They do great work, but their labor cost is too high (averages 40% of the cost of parts) for my budget. Use to be a very warm environment, but over the past year it has become very commercial and cold environment.

I have had my car serviced here multiple times and had one bad experience which I waited over three hours to have a nail removed from my tire.  Last Saturday was a different experience.  I arrived to have a safety pin removed from my tire, tire rotation, and fluid top off.  I was advised a new tire was required and he immediately wanted to know where I purchased my tires.  No service was completed except the fluid top off.  Walking to my car I noticed my hood was left slightly open and I guess I was supposed to find out what would happen while driving I 97 to get my new tire which was under warranty.  My car was serviced by the same mechanic who took three hours to patch one tire.

I have saved a great deal of money with their service and common sense approach to getting the job done right. 

Their highly recommended staff are conscientious, kind, courteous, and extremely attentive to detail. Dobbin Auto places a high premium on customer satisfaction.
