About

eNeRGy Kidz is a family business started in 1986 that prides itself on great customer service, sound teaching progressions and most of all safe, fun and meaningful sports opportunities for your child.

Story

eNeRGy Kidz is designed to be a fun and safe place where children can develop through personalized and quality instruction. We want to see all of our students develop mentally and physically through organized, structured and objective programs. We are a family owned and operated business that was started in 1986 by the Davis Family, as North Raleigh Gymnastics. The business has since added dance, cheerleading and martial arts with our 10,000 square foot expansion to the building in 2011, which prompted the new name of eNeRGy Kidz. eNeRGy Kidz is owned by Don Davis and is managed and co-owned by Scott & Rachel Davis. North Raleigh Gymnastics has always stressed the importance of providing fun, safe and quality instruction to our students for the last 29 years and we intend to carry that forward under eNeRGy Kidz.

My girls love this place! My oldest just moved up to Intermediate this year and my 4-yr old just started this Fall, too! They’ve done summer camps, too. They love their teachers and I can sing praises about the office staff!!

If you want a place for your child to play and not worry about learning at a competitive level then is an ok gymnastics. They are always looking for what else to offer(aside of gymnastics )but their classes are lacking curriculum. Is just recreational and for certain ages. Most coaches are not fit and they do not have the basic skills an instructor should have. I had my boy there for a short period of time because I didn't like all this. I want him to have fun but also to learn, be competitive and have instructors that motivate him to go beyond finishing the 45 minute class.

Before I get into the details of this gym, I think I should outline my background and my experience with NRG. I was a member of the boys team at NRG for 7-ish years (the last two of them under Benji). After leaving NRG, I continued in the sport of gymnastics both as a gymnast and as a coach; I have now been coaching for 12 years and counting. What makes or breaks a gym is the coaching, and I simply cannot leave a positive review for a gym whose head coach is Benji. Of the 7 years I spent there, five were excellent and helped shape me into who I am today; the final two (under Benji) were miserable and demoralizing, and in retrospect it's a wonder my love for the sport survived those two seasons. Benji always has to have a whipping boy; that is, there is always one team member who he bullies relentlessly. No matter how hard this kid works, Benji will say they are lazy and pathetic ("pathetic" being one of his favorite insults to hurl at his students). No matter what this kid says, Benji will interpret every word out of their mouth as an affront to his authority. I saw this happen to a teammate, who eventually quit, then it happened to me until I left for another gym, then it happened to another teammate of mine after I left, and even seeing his team at meets afterwards it has always been pretty easy to pick out who the whipping boy is. He always has one. While some of this can perhaps be written off as an issue of coach/athlete compatibility, it is simply not acceptable for any coach to bully their gymnasts the way Benji often did. Under no circumstances should a coach be calling their athletes "pathetic," let alone doing so on a daily basis. Furthermore, the fact that he always has one, and when that one quits he immediately moves on to the next, suggests that these issues have little to do with the athletes and everything to do with the coach. It gives me some pain to leave this review, as the owners are wonderful people and I have nothing negative to say about them. However, I firmly believe that anybody with an apparently-pathological need to bully (such as Benji seems to have) should not be permitted to work with kids, and it is for this reason that I cannot recommend this gym to anybody.

I have nothing negative to say about the owners, coaches and employees at this gym. They have worked with us, accommodated my daughter's class changes and talked me through our options. We are very happy with the T&T program so far AND are about to begin the gymnastics girls program! Love the room in the waiting area and the free wifi!

This is the nicest gymnastics facility I have ever been to. It's huge! They offer everything your kid could want. They offer recreational gymnastics, competitive cheerleading, competitive gymnastics, recreational trampoline and tumbling, competitive trampoline and tumbling, tumbling classes, karate, dance, and summer camps. The whole program is very organized. I have been to gyms where you have to share the floor with 4 other classes. But this gym makes sure everyone has plenty of space and it's not too crowded. This is seriously the best gym ever and I would recommend it to anyone.
