I'm far from a complaining type person and can go with the flow with most situations. But there was a lot of strikes against this rental car experience.  
I was supposed to pick up the car at a certain location in Eureka California. I already had the reservation when I got there they say they don't have a car for me and they were going to shuttle me over to another location. It was already late from traveling. Get to the other location and they don't have the kind of car I want so they gave me a SUV. I figured that's fine. I get into the car and it hasn't been washed and the gas is on completely empty with the light on. She said well if you want we can drive and get a half a tank of gas for you. Of course never going to fill it up because they want you to return the car with more gas in it came in. I hate that trick that they don't fill up the gas tank anymore. It's all them trying to make more money on you. I took it with the empty light on because I had to get to the hotel. I return my car in Oakland which was part of the situation of the contract. When I got to Oakland I return the card where you usually pull in but I couldn't go where you usually drop off a car because there was a big truck blocking it. So I drove it up to the front where the people are. No one walked up to me I unloaded my SUV. Finally someone came out and asked if they could help me and I said yeah I'm here to return the car. They said well you have to drive it back around to the other area which was blocked by a truck. I told him I couldn't see where to pull in and they said oh it's because that truck is blocking it. So I kind of gave them a nutshell of what I've gone through because I wasn't going to load up my car again and drive it around and they ended up finally just taking the car for me with of course more gas in it then when I picked it up. I would just say that for spending a lot of money I think they should look at the customer a little bit better if they actually want people to pick them because I sure will not anymore and will go to any other rental car place besides them in the future so they definitely lost my business. It seems like almost everybody is having the same issues at this location and they have been for awhile. I made my reservation a week and a half early. Fly across the country to find out this location doesn’t have the suv I needed so I comprised and agreed to a van. Waited 4 hours for this van. Finally once it arrived right at closing, they said I can not rent this van with an out of state ID. You should be able to rent a vehicle in other states right? Well you can but apparently not at this location with this management. This location is by far the worst branch I have been to. The people who represent this location are an embarrassment to others in the rental business.

Not willing to work with customers, even with insurance. Lied to by staff: was told to come in and they would get me a car at my discounted rate. Walked over a mile (which was communicated was necessary beforehand to staff) to get car. Was refused and sent away. Then had the audacity to tell my insurance that we were no longer qualified to rent a vehicle. I was in a very bad situation stuck over 2,000 miles away from home. Thank God Hertz across the street helped out!! Do yourself a favor and don't bother going into Enterprise when Hertz is ridiculously cheap in comparison and they are happy to help you out. Shame on Enterprise.

Good news this guys are working until 2PM even on Sunday. This feature saved me and my friends. One way rental available, good pricing, bad car choice.

I THOUGHT I rented and prepaid for a car rental to be picked up at Hertz at Arcata CA Airport.  When I tried to pick up the car they had no record of a reservation or payment.  And no cars.  A kind employee of Hertz suggested I call Enterprise in Eureka.  I did.  However they did not have staff to pick me up from the airport on a weekend (a service they advertise they provide).  An employee from Hertz was kind enough to offer another woman and I a ride to the next town to Enterprise to pick up a car.  Once there the staff at Enterprise totally rocked customer service!  I was in a car in the quickest processing of a car reservation I've ever had!!!  I would totally use Enterprise again.  Hertz employees are awesome.... Hertz let me down and I've met others with the same experience with their prepay offers.
