Fry's have a good selection of electronics which other big box retailers don't carry, which is really nice.  They also price match other stores and websites.  Returns are fairly easy and relatively pain free if they aren't busy.  Items can be hard to find as are sales associates.  It is a shame the sales people are not up to speed with the latest technologies and have been given poor advice. Good thing I am up to speed myself. Otherwise I would have purchased incorrect products for the project I was working on and would have never been able to get everything working. So do your research yourself to save yourself a headache. 
Otherwise the store is clean, bright and well stocked.  I enjoy coming here to see new tech goodies I can't find elsewhere in store and or only on the internet.

I remember (eons ago) when Fry's first came to Tempe, and then when they opened this store on the north side of town. It was amazing to have ready access to tech components (drives, cables, weird parts) and decent prices. I continue to like that (and wish I had similar access where I live now).

The demo area for laptops, printers, etc, is sort of sad. An odd selection that seemingly random. Lots of young sales staff around, but no sense that they're there to help. Overheard one customer ask if a laptop came with anti-virus, and the sales agent said "no". (Windows Defender comes with the operating system and is a good - if basic - anti-virus.)

Phoenix Fry's Electronics has and will always be a merchant where one shops out of necessity and not desire.

The California Fry's Electronics are the same story (been a reluctant, out of necessity customer since 1990).

Store employees kind of "okay," but the "management" are less than pleasant autonotoms devoted to Randy Fry, and they are not customer centric.

As a retired technologist, I absolutely don't miss being a customer out of necessity for nearly 15 years. 

Put it this way.... if Fry's Electronics becomes another retail victim of the great online monster, Amazon — I would not shed a tear. 

Thank goodness the Fry family no longer owns or runs Fry's Foods & Drug of Arizona (sold in 1972 and now owned by Kroger).

Amazing selection. Great prices on most everything electronic. Carries many things I've never seen in any other brick-and-mortar store. If you need something NOW, this is the place to go! What radio shack wanted to be, but never was...

This place is quite far from me but I came looking for a keyboard, i didn't find the one I was looking for but I found so many other choices that it didn't matter. They're a bit pricey but I pulled up an ad from Amazon and they did a price match. On some items you can even get tax free and if you sign up for their weekly specials you get great deals.
