Hertz has been great to deal with by having a vehicle ready for me when I  arrive and by sticking to the estimate where the charges are concerned.  On a recent trip, within 30 minutes of picking my car up, I was involved in an accident. The representative from Hertz that I talked to on the phone at the scene of the accident was very helpful and patient. I returned to the airport gave them the police report showed  that the other driver was at fault.  I don't know if this would've mattered in terms of the service I received.  I filled out an accident report and they sent me on my way in another vehicle. 

 I've been grateful for the efficient service I received from Hertz in the past. This recent experience gave me a higher level of appreciation for their professionalism in a crisis.

Each time I rent from Hertz I feel taken care of.  I highly recommend signing up as a Gold Member. There's nothing like walking straight for the parking lot, seeing your name on the board with the numbered spot where our car is parked, and just hopping into a waiting vehicle after a morning of traveling with a toddler.  To top it off, having having your husband say "How'd you do that?!"  When we checked in on our return, we didn't have to wait for the shuttle.  A driver took us in our rental (after it had been checked in) and dropped us off right at the terminal.  Thank you to the Kansas City crew and to Nuun for the lovely morning conversation. You have a loyal customer in me.

I have to say that this rental started out badly. I received a car that had very close to a flat tire. In the morning, we went back to Hertz to let them know, and we quickly received a new car. The customer service agent (on Feb 27th in the am) moved this experience from a 1 star to a 5 star experience...just through his incredible customer service.

Very good experience for my 1st time ever using Hertz! Easy process from start to finish and for a great price! I will definitely be using them again in the near future. Hopefully my next experience is as good as this one!

Recently rented a car form KC airport site but not after a flight. We picked it up by driving our car to pick up site because we needed 2 cars to travel to Omaha. Overall the rental was a positive experience. 
The not so good: 
Signage on how to pick up a car when not an airline traveler is nonexistent although there is good signage on returning a car. 
The car unfortunately had been rented by a smoker previously and the smell was apparent despite what was likely attempts at cleaning by Hertz. 
The add-on charges above the rental quote (fees and taxes and a tank of gas which was currently selling for $2.09/gallon locally) added almost $!00 to a weekly rental charge - I had not expected it to be that much. 
The good:
Attendants were friendly and extremely helpful directing me once I figured out I should enter via Car return gate.
The pick up then went quickly and without any hassle ( I am a gold card member and that really  makes things smooth).
