About

Beautiful Lodge & Cabins on 15 wooded acres with a beautiful wildlife viewing pond!

Story

The beautiful High Country Lodge & Cabins is owned by Texans Richard and Mona Cayard. Together with our two sons we live on and manage the property. Texas friendly is spoken here. The lodge is located in the southern Colorado Mountains. We have a 22 room lodge and also 10 private cabins with fireplaces and/or wood stoves, 3 outdoor hot tubs and a sauna, a huge grass area with a playground and picnic tables equipped with BBQ grills. Check out our tubing hill in the winter. We are about 5 minutes East from downtown Pagosa Springs which is home to the world's deepest geothermal natural Hot Spring. We are also the closest lodge to Wolf Creek Ski Area! Come see what the area has to offer. Trout fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, mountain sports, its all at our doorsteps!

The cabins are v close to each other and the highway (heard cars whizzing by all evening). The AC is a portable unit that vents through the living room window (not so effective). We were in their most spacious 2 bedroom and it's quite tight. Pullout not so comfortable - we put mattress on the floor. It was clean, good wifi, quick check-in/out process. We did not stay for breakfast.

Very quite and rustic atmosphere. Price is comparable to every hotel/motel in area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Short drive to shops in Pagosa. Short drive to Wolfe Creek Pass.

Great great place ran by great family. Each cabin is unique, comfortable, clean and cozy. The rooms are reasonable and equally clean and comfortable. Hot tubs are well mantained. Tubing hill in the Winter is a huge plus LOTS of games and books. Home made breakfast each mornings are GREAT. Have been staying here for several years now .Love the place and will be back in just a few weeks.

Absolutely beautiful place. Started out with a dead mouse under kitchen table. Thank God it was dead. HAHA. 3 hot tubs and an out door eating area with shade. Alot of Dvds and board games to play. Very well groomed property. Loved the Pom pom looking flowers hanging all over. At night a pump ran behind our cabin.Told staff next morning they explained what they thought was the problem and apologized with a discount on our stay. All in all great place for a group get a way. A romantic vacation place for sure! Will definitely stay again.
