This is a great place to take your car for service. They have always treated me fairly and they do good work. Chris Burns, the General Sales Manager, and Preston Locklear, one of the Service Advisors, have been excellent and always make sure that everything is going well while I am there for service or to buy a car.  I make it a point to ask for them when I arrive. It is also a great place to just sit down and have a cup of coffee and a cookie if you like. The lobby area is very comfortable and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend this dealership.

Handled the process of getting my car in for some work on recalls in a polite and professional fashion. After awkwardly hanging around the service floor for five+ minutes while none of the employees inquired if I needed help, I eventually imposed on someone at a desk to get my car in for my previously scheduled appointment. Other than that minor frustration, things were handled in a timely manner. While waiting on the complimentary shuttle, a younger sales person  was willing to entertain my questions on some newer model vehicles, despite my being up front that I wasn't in the market at the moment. I appreciated his honesty when it came to not knowing some of the finer technical details of the brand new model (I'm a huge nerd that asks technical questions 98% of humans probably don't care about) and complete lack of pressure to buy.
Overall, a positive experience. Would consider doing business with them again.

If I could give them a lower rating on here I would. These people sold us a car that they backed. We test drove it, and saw something wrong with the speedometer. When we mentioned that we wanted this checked before buying the car, we were reassured that it would be by our car dealer. We were told to come back the next day to pick it up, after work was to be completed on the bumper and the cluster was checked out. Once coming back to pick up the car, we were told that nothing was wrong with the car's cluster or the speedometer. Right after driving out of the lot (after paying) the speedometer went out completely. We tried taking the car back to get this issue fixed, and we were told that "words did not matter, only what is written on paper is" by the manager of the company. Because they had not documented checking the dash cluster or that we wanted it checked, we are out of $500. The mechanic could not even give us a straight answer as to if they actually checked it or not, despite being told it was the day prior and being told nothing was wrong with the car. They said it just needed to be reset. Never buy a car from these people or make sure they document everything you request before buying your car. They lie about their cars and even tell you they want to sell cars as fast as they can. They do not take the time to properly check their inventory before selling them to people.

Pretty inattentive dealer; felt like he didn't even want me to be there. Dragged his feet at doing anything to help us, including greet us when we arrived or show us vehicles we asked about. Apparently customer service is not needed to sell cars.

I have purchased three used cars from Honda of Columbia over the years, with a good experience each time. The atmosphere at Honda of Columbia is SO different from the Midlands Honda dealership and they have several longtime staff. I prefer the low-key, low pressure approach, and Midlands is like a loud carnival every time I have visited. At HoC I've worked with Mr. Leroy Doby on two separate car purchases, four years apart. While it always takes longer than I think it should to complete a car purchase (anywhere), their whole team are extremely helpful and have gone above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied with the vehicle I selected— from offering their best finance rate and comprehensive extended warranty (for a good price), to following up to fix a minor cosmetic blemish and replacing a missing interior piece that I noticed weeks after the purchase.  The service department is also excellent and I will have confidence in them to service my latest vehicle, even though it is not a Honda.
