I have just been through hell with this company. After 17 years with my beloved man, he finally passed away from cancer in our home. I had arranged to use the services of Legacy funeral home. Unfortunately my spouse was still legally married to a woman he had not set eyes on for close to 30 years. Toward the end of his life he tried to find and divorce her but could not. I told Legacy that I was afraid his family would go against his wishes and try to claim him, no doubt to see if they could get any money out of his estate. When he passed I reminded the driver who came to pick up the body that he was only to deal with me and not his father or sister who was present. I gave the driver a copy of my power of attorney and thought that would be enough. Then I saw the driver give a business card to the dad. The next day the funeral home informed me that someone claiming to be his wife had called and they would not proceed with his cremation as I requested. Even though they had my power of attorney in hand they chose to wait and see if I could beat his family to the courthouse. I was unable to do anything while i was experiencing the worst grief of my life. The staff admitted they were afraid of being sued and started to treat me with a cold shoulder even though I was their client. While I understand their need to try and distance themselves from what turned out to be a very ugly situation, I cannot understand their lack of compassion. They added to my grief. I actually threatened to sue them but changed my mind. I called them and spoke to Michelle. I told her that I did not intend to sue and I was just speaking out of grief. I told her that I did not want my threat to impede my spouses final journey and that I just wanted him to be laid to rest. Michelle said OK. I waited for her to say something kind but she just hung up on me. What a cruel thoughtless person. Worst experience of my life.

Legacy was fantastic! They picked my dad up from my mom's apartment, handling us and my father with all the dignity, respect and care you could ask for during such times. They even had a rose on the gurney and then on my father. While not needed, it was a nice caring touch. They came in an inconspicuous unmarked van so there was little attention from others around, keeping it a more private affair; and pickup was included in the simple cremation where other places wanted $795 just for transport! We met with Janelle the next day to make the arrangements. She was knowledgeable, kind and extremely patient with mom's storytelling throughout the process. We bought our urn on Amazon and they had no issues using it; I must note that the prices on their urns were again much more reasonable than competitors. They also provided us the two free death certificates. All in all, could not have asked for a better experience!!! The whole cost was just under $700, vs competitors base price of $2200!!!! I would recommend friend and family, and will return if in the area when mom passes (hopefully waaay in the future!).

What a wonderful group of employees. I couldn't have hoped for a more professional, compassionate mortuary. The fact that they were extremely affordable was an excellent plus. I would definitely recommend them from my experience at a very difficult time.

Everyone that works there was very understanding of the delicate circumstances I was in and took all the time I needed to answer my questions. Very professional without coming off as cold.
