Funny story from yesterday.

While my mom was in hospice (dying) I had the opportunity to print, sign, have witnessed and notarized, and fax some paperwork to the funeral chapel. The fax failed after two attempts so I had to call this place to ask a simple question.

I usually write down the names of people I speak with on the phone, but in this case I thought, no, a funeral chapel wouldn't do something where I would need to remember. Man, was I wrong.

It began, 'I have a question, I am trying to fax some paperwork to you and it's not working. Is it possible to email a copy of this to you?'

I was asked, 'Who is this for?' Answering a question with a question.

Then as she searched, 'Oh! Our fax machine has been going off. The Internet has been having trouble for about a week.'

I waited for the answer to my question. Instead, 'I can't find her.'

"That's because SHE'S NOT DEAD YET," I glared. The employee standing in front of me at this store whom I was paying to print, notarize, and fax this document looked uncomfortable. My wife looked concerned. It was already a mess because we had been waiting  on this failing fax machine and other customers and so on.

Her response was, 'Oh! So, you're just being proactive then?'

PERSON ON THE PHONE: There are five stages of grief. They are denial, ANGER, bargaining, DEPRESSION, and acceptance. Guess which one of those stages your customers are going to be in? It doesn't matter if you ANSWER MY QUESTION DIRECTLY.

P.S. Peanuts was wrong, there is no "Good Grief, Charlie Brown"

The care and concern shown to us was overwhelming. Vanessa was absolutely the best person we could have been associated with. While all the staff was great, she went above and beyond to help us through this difficult time.

When we went in to lay out precious baby to rest we were told we could not see her until we had 1,000.  Our family was devastated. After we paid their fee, they apologized and let us see our baby.  I do not recommend this place. 8((

Thank You!  In our deepest sorrow, we were comforted by the way we were treated.  The verbiage used to let us know that our mom was going to rest safely was incredible.  Carmen was professional, caring, warm, respectful, dignified.... just amazing.  Thank you.
