I booked this room online because of its distance from the airport NOT knowing that it was located in a part of town that’s known for high crime. This might have been over looked but upon arriving at the property I noticed that towards the rear several of the units had a lot - A LOT of guest traffic coming in/out of just one unit. I don’t think a van that had been left there that had several flat tires was a great brand experience for Motel 6. My room! I understand that corners are cut to meet the high cost of constuction but simple things such as filling in holes in your walls isn’t that expensive. The cleanliness of the room was really horrible. I had to buy disenfencting wipes in an attempt to make it feel clean. There was several long pieces of hair on the sink and on the bathroom floor. It was in plain sight which makes me wonder was it even cleaned at all from the previous guest?!?! There was a yellow stained ice buildup in the freezer. Yes - yellow ice! GROSS The bathroom door wouldn’t close because of some sort of water damage. I ponder and even as I write this review if it would make ANY difference what so ever. I also wonder does the leadership in your company sleep in these types of rooms? Would you want any of your friends or family to stay - specifically at this Memphis location? This by far in my 20 years of traveling was the worst experience I have ever had. I will think more than twice before even renting from any other Motel 6 locations.

The staff was so helpful and nice. Rooms not so nice. But a nicer place to stay than the Magnuson grand hotel 2 blocks away

We have stayed in numerous motel sixes across the country and this one was by far the worst we've been in. Let's see where to begin, well for starters when walking in the room for the first time, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. Secondly one of the beds had spots all over the sheets. Thirdly the bathtub was utterly disgusting, and it also kept making a loud banging sound all night long. We had to shut the door to make it less loud. Fourth, there would be vagrants standing outside screaming and yelling about God knows what. Fifth, cars would be coming in and out of the parking lot blasting music. Sixth, near one of the main stairwells there was broken glass all over the place and it wasn't blocked off or anything, so anyone could get seriously injured on it. Seventh, we didn't have a microwave as we wanted and also how they advertised it. We will not be returning. We will also be calling corporate about this.

The beds in the room were not cleaned properly, one of the headboards fell down because it was detached prior to our arrival, there was at least one woman who was looking for pleasurable favors from strangers for either money or drugs, there were loud parties of some sort occurring and the Memphis Police had to come to the motel and wait until several people left in their cars, and there was an odd smell that hit us when we walked into the room. The place was not welcoming and did not give us a feeling of safety. The receptionist was on a call (speaker phone) when I arrived and continued her call as she searched for the last room key available; it was rather unprofessional on her part even though she eventually put the person on hold while she checked me in. If I could have gotten my money back without being charged for the room, I would have and I would have slept in another motel. It was after midnight when we checked in and we were exhausted driving from Chicago to Memphis; first road trip of ours with a drive of 8 hours. I began to not feel well as we got further on our travel and I didn’t have the energy to continue to look for a place to sleep which is the main reason we decided to just check in and stay.
