Overall very happy with National.  Had been a long time Hertz person but a co worker suggested National as the Aisle provided nice cars.  I had stuck with Hertz for their rewards program which I felt gave me cars quicker.  In hindsight the experience of getting access to really nice cars and some fun rides (beats the Toyota Corolla or similar I always got from Hertz) and with the special programs I see to get the same level of rewards.  Overall really happy that I made the switch.

I have needed to travel to Chicago several times in the last couple months and the experience at National at Midway airport is consistently top notch.  Everyone working there is always friendly, service with a smile and personable.  Sometimes there is a lack of inventory on the Emerald Aisle but they have allowed me to select from the Executive section which is also a great way to treat regular repeat customers.

As an Emerald Club member,  it is always gratifying not being required to stop at the service counter. You simply proceed to the designated aisle of cars prepped for immediate availability, choose whichever model suits you and proceed to the exit gate. There is no hassle. You merely give the attendant your driver's license, accept or reject a few options and proceed on your way. The return process is similarly uncomplicated and efficient. The attendants were unfailingly courteous.

My company mandates we use National. It use to be Hertz and I was President's Circle.  When the national contract was changed to National/Enterprise they kept my status  - I am Executive Elite with National. I have found National to have much nicer selection of cars/SUV's/trucks than Hertz or Enterprise in their elite awards program.  I had a problem when checking out my car this morning. The billing wasn't coming in at our contracted rate. I ask to speak to the Manager and he said he would investigate and get right back to me. It has been less than 4 hours and Bryan Wentworth contacted me that he had found the problem and corrected the billing! Top class customer service! Thanks Bryan!

I have been an emerald member for a year and travel almost every week.  Besides in New Orleans(they are always having issues with having few cars available), service has always been great and fast.  The cars are always clean, are current year models, and they are fast when you return the car so that you can make your flight on time.  I can't imagine renting a car with another company being better than this one.
