Dear Black people, DO NOT STAY HERE! If I cold leave a ZERO star rating, I would! This place does not offer ANY customer service. I rented a room here for 2 nights and three days for a total of $305.00. When I arrived at Old Court on Thursday evening (8:30pm on 9/7/17), Randy checked me in, placed a hold on my card and then informed me that the water in the shower was not working. Not only that, but there was NO hot water running in the sink. After traveling for 12 hours on public transportation, I was really looking forward to showering and going to bed in a nice, clean room. However, that is not the experience that I had at Old Court. Randy informed me that he had contacted the manager, but that he had not heard back from him. He also suggested that I speak to the manager the next day, because I should not have to pay for a night in a location that did not have (hot) running water. I agreed with Randy and did the best that I could to get comfortable that night, as I had to be up early for a conference the next morning. I woke up the next morning (8am on 9/8), and the water was still off. I went downstairs to find the manager and he informed me that "his plumber" was working on it and the water should be back on within the hour. The water did not come back on until 11am. I was still miserable that morning after not having a shower the night before or even when I woke up. I shared that with the manager, Max, who replied nonchalantly, "oh, okay". I returned upstairs to take a shower and get ready for my conference. The water was BROWN. Someone came up and stated that the hot water pipe had burst and that's why the water would not run. I decided to let the water run for over a hour until it was no longer brown. This was a major inconvenience to me as a guest, because I could not get ready for my conference without taking a shower and getting cleaned up. As the water ran, which you can see in the attached photos, it left DIRTY stains on the bottom of the tub. I asked the manager, Max, to have someone come up and clean it before I got in to take a shower and he responded "so you want me to wipe out the tub?" YES. I am paying for full access to your provided amenities and I expect them to be clean. I was not asking too much to have the tub cleaned out before I took a shower. That's basic sanitation. Anyway, he begrudgingly came upstairs with only a hand towel (no bleach or other cleaning products) to "wipe out" the tub. This did not make me feel that it was clean, but I let it go. I took a shower in shower shoes that day, night and the following morning because I knew that it wasn't clean. When I got ready to check out the next morning, I asked the woman working the desk if I would be compensated for my first night at the Old Court Bed and Breakfast, considering I could not take a shower until the following afternoon. She called Max and he asked to speak with me on the phone. He stated that it was an emergency and he "didn't know what I expected him to do at 8:30pm at night". I told him that I expected to be compensated for a miserable stay in his facility. Max said that he refused to compensate me and I told him that I would be reporting him. I have already contacted the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. DO NOT STAY HERE. This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced.

This place was super cute, the staff were amazing. We went for a walk and it was supposed to rain so Max (if I'm remembering his name right) lent us his umbrella for the day. So nice. Also that omelette was pretty awesome.

The Old Court is a restful, historic B&B walking distance from Brown, RISD and Providence's vibrant, walkable neighborhoods. I loved staying there. It has so much character but still important modern updates like a really comfortable mattress and excellent shower. The owner and staff were the perfect balance of friendly, welcoming, and respectful of my privacy. This is the best place to stay in Providence!!!
