We will never shop here again. Became a member because they told us we get a $20 gift card that covers the membership fee. We went back 6 weeks later to use the gift card and it expired 10 days after we got it. We were headed out of town and needed travel items for the trip and requested they honor the card. The customer service lady called the manager and the manager asked how much we were spending and then asked if the lady verified that we actually got our membership when we did and she confirmed that she had. After all this they offered us a new gift card that was only good for 2 weeks, but we could not use it today, we had to wait 2 weeks to use it... we explained we had to leave for our trip and were on our way to the airport. They still offered nothing. We called the manager on the way to the airport and then he offered to make it right and we explained that we needed the items today and it was too late. It really makes us sad to be treated like this. We spent $300 when we were sold the membership and then couldn’t even get them to honor the gift card. They never told us it expired so quickly, we assumed like any other gift card we would have more than 10 days... No thank you, you will never get a dime from us again.

The Colorado Springs REI ski shop does top notch work.  Just got a tune for my skis, very impressed the bases were repaired and look brand new, less than 24hr turn around very fair prices.  What I thought was really cool is that even though they’re obviously slammed they took the time to answer tuning questions etc.  They offer super informative classes throughout the winter also.  Thank you!

I have been a loyal REI customer for years, and have had wonderful experiences with them until today. Last December I bought the khul flight fleece for around $160 and wore it for about two months before packing it up for the winter. Since it's been so warm this winter, I just pulled it back out two weeks ago. Last week I noticed It had pretty sever matting across my chest where my seatbelt sits when I drive. It also was so matted in the underarm area that the fleece was separating and exposing the under lying material. I tried to pick it out and clean as recommended to no avail. When I brought it in to see about a replacement I was told that since I was just over my one year since purchase - and the matting/separation was "normal wear and tear" (so a seatbelt destroying the fabric was normal, and that they would do nothing for me. I have spend more money at REI than I'd like to admit (into the thousands) as I work out in the field and backpack a lot - they've always been wonderful at honoring the quality of their merchandise, but not this location. I will no longer be using them when investing in out door equipment/clothing.

I came from Maine and I am used to L.L.Bean (RT).  I am not trying to make any legal comparison.  But L.L.Bean always honors their products regardless of age, etc.  you can show up with a backpack 10 years later and they would replace it.  I knew REI from when I lived in California and remembered them being fantastic.  I had an issue with some Keens I bought about 8 months ago.  I called them.  He said "Come down we will take care of it or replace it etc...whatever we can do for you."  I got to the store and a very kind lady said I can help you here, what's the problem" And without explaining nearly anything except that I was unsatisfied she said go back and get something you like."  I found an amazing pair of Merrell's that were recommended to me by another very polite and in fact I was approached by two different people when the man was finished with another customer just to make sure I was satisfied.  I was.  The shoe the young lady picked out for me fits like no shoe I have ever worn.  I have wide feet and as soon as I mentioned that...Bam!  This is what you need!  And she was right.  I picked a more expensive shoe and she said "I think this will fit you better and be more to your liking, stronger bottom and more flexible."  Boy was she right.  And it didn't cost me a thing!!!  If you know L.L.Bean and wished there was one near you.  It's called R.E.I.   The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the store in Colorado Springs is a bit small, they don't have as huge a selection as some of the other R.E.I. stores but they are more than happy to order it for you.  Definitely recommend R.E.I. if you want a quality product you pay for that you never have to worry about again, and make your feet feel wonderful! :)
