Let me start by saying that before this past week’s series of unfortunate events, I already had a deep, abiding aversion to patronizing Rockland Hyundai. The last time I went there for service was a joke, not to mention that when you call to get an appointment for an oil change they want to give you an appointment for 3 weeks from Tuesday at 2:00 in the afternoon, and that’s only after you’ve been on hold for 10 minutes. So, for the past 18 months or so I’ve been using another Hyundai dealership or a local Quick Lube for service. Nevertheless, my car died and AAA towed it there as it was close and I didn’t want to pay to have it towed to the other dealership I use. This was on a Saturday night. Annoying thing #1: The service advisor called on Monday to tell me that the car needed a whole new engine. When I expressed astonishment that a well-maintained 3-year-old car with only 65,000 miles on it would need a new engine, his response was, “It happens. What do you want me to tell you?” Really? “It happens” is your answer? Luckily for me, the repair was covered under the powertrain warranty. Annoying thing #2: When I went to pick up the car and return the loaner, the service advisor directed me to the cashier to sign the paperwork. I go to her window and she looks up at me with a blank stare. No “hello,” no “Can I help you?”. Nothing. So, I tell her my name and she grabs my forms and instructs me to sign in two highlighted places without any further explanation from her or the service advisor. I sign the first sheet, which is the service order that says, “Customer states knocking sound in engine.” (Incidentally, that’s not actually what I said, but whatever.) The second page I need to sign is a service history with entries from 2015 on it. I ask the cashier where the current repair details are. She tells me with an attitude, “On the first page you signed.” I respond, “Nope, that’s the order. Where’s the information about what was actually done?” She rolls her eyes and the service advisor comes over to ask me what the problem is. I explain that I’d like to see what was done to the vehicle. He says, “She’ll give you your receipt after you sign. What difference does it make? It was covered under the warranty, wasn’t it?” I tell him I’d like to know anyway, as it’s my car, and, anyway, isn’t a service advisor supposed to explain the service BEFORE I sign the paperwork? When I asked him this, he also rolled his eyes and asked the cashier for that page, thrust it at me and said, “Well, you already know what they did right? They replaced your engine. What more do you want to know?” Why would some silly woman possibly want an explanation of the repairs done on her car, right? I probably wouldn’t understand it anyway. So, I take the keys, get in the car and leave. Later that night… Annoying thing #3: I noticed that the windshield mount for my phone, quite a nice one, was missing. I hadn’t taken it with me into the loaner. This was Saturday night, a week after the breakdown, so I couldn’t call until Monday morning (today). When I did call, the service advisor indicated he would ask around and call me back. When he called me back, he told me that no one had seen it and that he even checked the loaner and it wasn’t there. I explained that I wasn’t asking him whether anyone had seen a windshield mount that had gotten lost, I was telling him that someone in his service department had TAKEN it out of my car (I had looked under the seats, etc. to be sure that it hadn’t fallen off and/or gotten flung aside). He said he would ask around again and call me back. I’ve yet to hear from him. Big surprise. TL;DR Rockland Hyundai’s customer service is abysmal and they have thieves working in their service department. I will never set foot in there again for sales or service. By the way, I’ve purchased 3 cars from them.

BUYERS BE AWARE!!! Rockland Hyundai has been emailing me about leasing another Sonata at the same price as my lease is close to end. They also sent me the voucher to receive $40 Visa Prepaid Card for test driving a new car. I came in and test drove w/ salesperson Anderson and he did NOT honor both promises. 1. He tried to use bait and switch tactics offering me a lesser car and asked way more than verbally agreed. 2. Did not redeem $40 Prepaid Visa Card. Come on guys!! What a way to treat a repeat customer!! Avoid Anderson at all cost!!!!!

I Visited Rockland Hyundai to inquire about purchasing a car. I was greeted by a salesperson by the named Daine. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions i had about purchasing a car. My experience was excellent. I am the type to be suspicious of sales people of any kind, but Daine was very friendly, helpful, and honest! He made the buying experience pleasurable. He was extremely easy to work with. He helped me get exactly what I was looking for in a new car. Very friendly dealership - would definitely recommend!!!

Great Service! I bought my 2016 Sonata here. I worked with Roger who worked my husband and I, talked us through the conflict we were having. They were able to get us a great deal and great rates for the loan. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in looking for a new car. Love my Sonata
